I agree with you 100%. I love Tina Charles, to me is one of the queens of disco from 70s.
When some years ago, a remix of "I love to love" was on the air, I remember a very big success everywhere in Europe.
I love Tina Charles! I was reminded of "I Love To Love" when I bought the 2 disc "The Best Disco In Town Vol. 2". Then I found "The Best Of Tina Charles-I Love To Love" CD. Especially I love the title song, "Rendezvous", "Dance Little Lady Dance", "Fire Down Below", "Halfway To Paradise", "Falling In Love (With A Boy Like You)", "When You Got Love", "You Set my Heart On Fire" and "I'll Go Where Your Music Takes Me". She reminds me of The Nolans, Bucks Fizz or Dollar (UK pop acts that had no US hits). I saw some vinyl of her too, secondhand...I am going back to look for it. And I don't care if she weighs more than the typical sexy girl on many studio musician disco albums covers. And I don't think she is cheesy at all. And anything I did think leaned in that direction I would call something like "whimsical". I think "cheesy" has been used by some to slag off disco in general and I don't want to use that term. I realize no one here was trying to slag off disco.
