I just wondered if anyone could confirm whether this was the title of a record from 1980 by a group called Eye to Eye. I heard it on the radio all those years ago & really liked it but I've never heard it again or even seen it or the group mentioned anywhere since. It was very much in a similar vein to The Quick or Human League sound. Has anyone got any information on this group or where I could find the record?

Sorry everyone, I've just gone onto Gemm & they have this very record for sale there (I'm sure I looked b4 & couldn't find anything) & apparently another record of theirs was produced by Gary Katz of steely dan fame - no wonder I liked them!!
Any further info would be welcome though.

    SD,

Well, I have 2 LPs by Eye To Eye:

A self-titled LP from 1982 ("Nice Girls" was the cut they were playing in the clubs). Deborah Berg was the vocalist. Gary Katz produced and some other heavy hitters were involved: Timothy B. Schmitt (The Eagles) duets with Berg on a track; Jeff Porcaro (Toto) is the main drummer; Jim Keltner is a drummer on 2 cuts; Rick Derringer is the guitarist.

All the songs were co-written by Berg and Julian Marshall, who plays keyboards.

The 2nd LP is from 1983: "Shakespeare Stole My Baby"; also produced by Gary Katz. Steve Lukather (Toto) plays guitar as does Larry Carlton; even Donald Fagen (Steely Dan, himself) plays keyboards on a cut called "Jabberwokky".

I remember liking the 1982 LP better than the 1983--I never heard of them again after this.

Check out "Nice Girls". I'm gonna play it now th refresh my memory.

    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."
