Yep it's Lipps Inc. I was jsut listening to this on an old tape from the early 1980's. Everyone has been in a 1982 mood lately!!!! So, out came my 1982 stash with "Let's Groove", "Do you Love Me", Brandi Wells and a lot of the Lipps Inc. stuff.
I think Lipps are underrated---this later (post-"Funkytown") stuff was gooooood. Steve Greenburg's funky production and Cynthia Johnson's (a former Miss Black Minnesota!!!) voice is terrific. I always thought she would do some solo stuff. What happened???

I like "Designer Music" and "Addicted To The Night" but I can't stand "Choir Practice"
I LOVE "Choir Practice"--it's just joyful!!!! Never heard it in a club--Just in my home!!!
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I liked a lot "Funkytown" when I discovered the world of DISCO 4 years ago. But now I can't simply stand that song anymore...maybe too overrated.
I do like "Designer Music"...If Calvin says it's samshing...Designer Music!
