Walter Murphy, responsible for "A fifth of Beethoven", currently composes soundtracks for American TV shows.
I was interested to read the recent Karen Silver thread & in my on-going quest for whatever happened to the wonderful people behind our music, I've recently learned that this gentleman of 'Love Deluxe' & 'Love & Kisses' fame is the composer of the theme music to Channel 4's highest rated program 'Countdown'!
Does anyone else know of more 'disco people' who have gone on to have subsequent creative/ interesting careers?
...ya gotta beat the street......

Sarah Brightman of the Hot Gossip and "I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper", "Love In An Ufo" etc infamy became a respected light opera singer. She is still touring and starring in extravagant productions in huge concert arenas around Europe and putting out cds. When questioned about her beginnings and the risque dance moves she performed in The Kenny Everett Show, the light opera diva cheerfully admits she had a blast with it all.
Well, I found out recently that one of my fave artists Alec R Costandinos is now producing films and just did one this year, forget the name of it. I think he's due for a comeback in music. After all, his rival from back in the day Cerrone never stopped and now is a millionare with his Maligator label and has a new LP set for release anytime now.

William Michael Lewis of EL COCO fame now works in cruising ships as the keyboard player of the reformed 50's doo-wop band The Diamonds, but he also works as a session L.A. musician apearing in various pop albums as keyboard player. In the 90's he was involved with the comeback of the american psychedelic acid-rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service, but I think he quit them. That's the band where he started in the late 60's.
Laurin Rinder is now an artist (painter) as you may already know.
Talking about Kung Fu Fighing, W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder did the soundtrack (or part of the soundtrack) of some, believe or not, ninja movies for children in the 80's, after disco era W. Michal Lewis and Laurin Rinder did an undercover way.

My friend and multitalented Beverly Hills DJ from the 70's early 80's Elton Ahi gave the the world such hits as Move on UP UP UP by Destination and several others - I think he played every instrument himself - crops up as music supervisor and sound engineer on a bunch of Hollywood movies such as Shanghai Noon, Passion of Mind etc. This guy was one of the disco greats on the west coast in those days - pop quiz I am trying to recall the name of thact club in Beverly Hills where all the rich Iranian exiles and Chinese Los Angelenos used to hang out -that's where Elton spun music anyway. Respect to Elton!! :D
