I consider my self damn lucky. Here in S. Florida, at 2am on Sat. nights, I curl-up on the couch and watch "The Best of Soul Train". Although it's mercilessly chopped-up, to make room for twice as many commercials, they are running them in sequence. I started to watch them about 3 months ago, when they were in the summer of 1973. Last night was from early '77. They premiered Carrie Lucas' "I Gotta Keep Dancin'" and the line-dance was to Shalamar's "Uptown Festival". Oh Lord! How it took me back, as I worked on NY promotion of "Uptown Festival". If, like me, this is really YOUR generation, and you practically LIVED for the music, these reruns can get you choked-up at times.
It's also a trip, because you can watch the progression of the music. The tracks they were playing on the early '77 epsiode were high energy and increasingly more polished. While the 3 featured acts (B.T. Express, Letta Mbulu, Kool and The Gang) did numbers that were still in a '75-76 funky groove, and as I recall, never charted at all. Like watching a condensed "changing of the guard".
"So join us next week, at the same time, on these same fine stations.
And you can bet your last money, it's all gonna be a stone-gas, honey!
And as always, in parting, we wish you love... peace... and SOUL!"

and what about all those accounts suspended only for uploading some music???? i mean mlkh8 (or somethin like that) or tek3x (who has another acount but i won't tell it here) etc....
they're only promotin for free...if it wasn't for those users i would never have listened some music/artists that i've bought now.:icon_exclaim:
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the complaints are from people who make money selling bootlegs of 70s music videos, performances, etc... I mean, youtube is cutting into their business because people don't have to shell out money for these videos on DVD R when they can watch it for free on youtube.
