maybee its a bit unfair of me to ask this as i cant even ask a full question but theres talk here of a 50 act soul concert in l.a next year sorry i dont know anymore than that,have you noticed anything whilst flicking through the pages of variety ???
if true there could be a plane on the way from england and your hollywood home could be invaded ! you know midnight swimming parties in your ceeement pond that kind of thing.i know youre comfortable with your security cameras but we can take care of them and your doberman dogs too !! beware !

Hi Disco! I don't know if this post will answer your question but here it is anyway...

This morning I was working on my yard and had an Earth, Wind & Fire CD playing. My neighbor, who is African American, came over and we started talking about music. He mentioned that there is a planned tour which will include Earth, Wind, & Fire; The Commodores with L. Richie; Kool & The Gang; The Gap Band; the surviving members of CHIC; Luther Vandross and some of the members of CHANGE; The Sugar Hill Band; and a number of other funk, R&B, soul, and Old School rap. It is supposed to start in the spring and last throughout the summer, ending with a huge show in N.Y. on Sept. 11th 2003. He wasn't sure but he thought the location might be Central Park.

He mentioned that although the organizers are trying to keep a low profile, the tour is beginning to get a lot of attention, especially among African Americans.

Could this be the one you are talking about?

After the bland summer concert series we just had, I am ready for some good shows next summer!

hi ricardo,im not really sure as my details are sketchy,i think this is not the one but wow what a line up!looks like some treats ahead for you guys. the one i read about was a one off in l.a i havnt read any music mags for weeks as ive been away and havnt been to my newsagent for ages i must walk there and get them [they must think im dead as im normally there on publication day for each one !]and see if i can learn more thanks ricardo

I've heard nothing about such a concert--BUT I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I get any info. So this would be a concert lasting several days??? I would guess with 50 acts, several days would be necessary.

Interesting that Lionel Richie is gonna reunite with The Commodores--who woulda thunk it???? I guess his solo career is going nowhere--sooooo... boys & girls, can you say the "Return To Brickhouse Tour"??? :lol:
