Looking for "If Looks Could Kill" Remix

Back in 1985 some of the clubs were playing a different version of If Looks Could Kill by Pamala Stanley. I got the Mirage 0-96894 record but my copy was considerably less energy. The remix was more beefed up in the synthesizer department. Anyone out there know what record I'm looking for (or a good place to find it?)
PS... Anyone looking for a Pamala Stanley CD? She has her own website and is selling her own greatest hits collection there.

The original of this is around 141 bpm,the remix is around 136 bpm. The remix, while slower, is tougher and beefier. The original (IMO) is a bit weak. I don't have my records handy, so I can't give you the label numbers. They are both on the Mirage label though.

Back in the day I was told the remix was only issued as a promo. Since Mirage didn't use white labels for the their promos and there were two promo releases (original mix and the later remix) you'll need to check the labels carefully.

Re: Looking for "If Looks Could Kill" Remix

Thanks for the input. I started scouring the online record stores and found out there were two promo pressings out there both labelled as Mirage #821. One shows time same as the commercial #96894 (5:03) but the other has a time of 6:53 and a longer b-side dub also. I am betting this is the one I'm looking for. I love these forums...I'm finding things I've been wishing for for over 20 years.:p

hI there, I have both versions of these, on finished copies. Both have the catalogue number 0-96894. The original version (140bpm) runs at 5:03 whilst the remix (135bpm) runs at 6:53, and also shows as being mixed by Bob Miro & Pamala Stanley on the label. Hope that helps :)

    Andy,

Thanks for the info. Would love it if you could add the remix along with a label scan to the A-Z Record Vault...
