DONT LEAVE ME STARVING FOR YOUR LOVE im not sure if you mean freda paynes version or holland doziers version but both on invictus and both great, what a label
Inspired by my 'New Main Man', DISCODISK, I decided on a soulful 'name that tune' for this quiz.
The year is 1974. The BPM (for those of you who need them:lol: ) is 104 but caution, the bass line is more 'sway' than 'sleaze' dance.
Here we go:
TAKE ME BACK BABY
LET ME FEEL, FEEL YOUR ARMS AROUND ME
LET ME HOLD YOU CLOSE
AND MAKE YOU MINE AGAIN
YOU KNOW I STILL LOVE YOU
(GOT TO HAVE YOU BABY)
YOU KNOW I STILL NEED YOU
(NEED YOU BABY)
OH BABY "---- ----- -- -------- --- ---- ----", BABY.
Hint: Danae Jacovidis gave us a taste.
Love Has No Time or Place

Dioscodisk,
Baby, you're the best!!!!!
What don't you know about sweet soul music???
(Now if you'd only use capital letters and a period at the end of a sentence now and then!!!!) Just kidding--I can always sorta figure out where the sentences are supposed to end!!!!
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Right on, Marky!!
Hats off to Discodisk!!! Amazing knowledgdment!!
I think Discodisk write in a 'Sutnop style'!!
Hey Sut! Where are you, BTW?
Peace
SENHORES DO GROOVE - BRAZIL
Hey My Man 'Double-D'.
Right song, WRONG ARTISTS. Yes, it is the Holland/Dozier version but who did they give it to before Freda? (Please let me have my timeframe right.)
Put those soul caps back on people.
OK --- after checking Freda's timeframe with Invictus, the lady (hint, hint) I'm thinking of got the song after her. I don't remember this song being released as a single for Freda Payne but for my mystery artist, that's a big YES.

i was sort of watching a liverpool soap on t.v last night and a girl slammed the phone down on somebody and said "warrameff" [what an idiot]are you following me? there IS no grammar, spaces or periods in the liverpool language...knowwarrameenmaahkee !!
Hey, (I'll borrow Nicky's) "Double-D",
Yep, I get the picture. Love the Beatles, love you. Forget about caps, puctuation and those pesky periods at the ends of sentences!!!!
Just keep on enlightening us with all those forgotten soul singles from the past that we never heard and you seem to have memorized!!! I think I understand why there's not much space left for the rules of grammar in your brain--too much Invictus/Hot Wax/Motown, etc. knowledge stored up there!!!
What are "your neighbors" listening to now??? They should thank their lucky stars that you provide an unending stream of great music for their background pleasure!!!!
They could be living next to an Eminem or Ol' Dirty Bastard fan, right????

Yeah, that's the man. I knew you were up late and I was hoping my memories of Freda Payne hadn't gone haywire. On 2002-10-19 12:33, DISCODISK wrote:

Marky,
D_D shared some 60's Northern Soul with me... ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!! Small labels or limited releases of soul music that just never made it here, even though they were recorded right in the good old USofA. Like Motown 'seconds', in the good sense. I agree with you, DiscoDisk is on top of his soul music.
