Yes, you guys did it! Just reading about your findings make me envious! Anyway, given monetary reasons and none of my friends buying/downloading disco tracks, I decided to go to the motherload. I can't listen to these records still (technical reasons) but started to buy anyway. It's pretty basic but what the hell...

-GIORGIO - From here to eternity (1977)
    -B.T. EXPRESS - Non-stop (1975)
    -BRASS CONSTRUCTION - II (1976)
-THE RITCHIE FAMILY - American generation (1978)
    -GARY'S GANG - Gangbusters (1979)
-THE GAP BAND - IV (1984)
    -DONNA SUMMER - A love trilogy (1977)
-PATRICK JUVET - Got a feeling (1978) (I see that smile Marky!)
    -HERB ALPERT - Rise (1979)
-PATTIE BROOKS - Love shook (1978)
-EL COCO - Dancing in Paradise (1979)
    -KUMANO - Kumano (1980)

Some I bought for the artist, some for a track, others for the cover... And Kumano (?) just by the label: Prelude.
Now some of them grace one wall in my bedroom (no, not Patrick Juvet! ) and look pretty nice, save for Giorgio and that mustache...
I recently found a Deniece Williams LP called "When love comes calling", from 1979 and with her in a phone booth in the cover. Produced by Ray Parker jr. Should I buy? Or it's just ballads?

    Hey Nano,

    Good list of records indeed!!
The only one that I dont like too much is Herb Alpert. nothing wrong, it's just my taste.
My fave is Brass Construction, I love that messed up atmosphere on their recordings!!
Sadly, the sound quality of their records are not that good!! Maybe the recording engineers were messed up too!!

    Peace

I love every album that you bought on the (edited) list above....! Especially, El Coco, probably my fave by that group....Patti Brooks (her best and only one worth having) and anything by Donna or
    Giorgio.....

BTW, I loved Giorgio with the stache and I always wanted to meet Patrick Juvet, but never frequented the gay bars he went to when in the States....

The Deniece Williams album is worth having if only for the single "I've Got The Next Dance," (though the 12" woulda been better). Her album is her in-between period of AM I A CHRISTIAN SINGER, POP BALLADEER or new DANCE DIVA.....Not one of her best, but I can't think of any all-round best album by Deniece, can you?

Blax: Brass Construction sound fine on CD. It must have been poor mastering at the time.

It's true! Brass Construction's CD's has a good sound quality, but their early albums, BC I, BC II and BC III has an awful sound quality in vinyl!! And, sadly, I cant find them on CD!

    Peace.

A vinyl of Giorgio Moroder, El Coco, Gary's Gang etc. has no price.

Nano, I have two vinyls pressed in Argentina, one is Love Unlimited and the other is Silver Convention, so "Love's Theme" is "Tema del Amor", "Share a Little Love in Your Heart" is "Comparte un Poco de Amor en Tu Corazon", "Save me" is "Sálvame", "Another Girl" is "Otra Chica" .

Yes Marcio, until the arrival of CD we used to translate the titles of albums and songs (not a bad idea IMHO, at least if the original's also quoted). Basically, you can tell if a girl is over/below 30 years old by questioning her about their Zeppelin fave track. If she says "Escalera al cielo", oops! She's 10 years older than she looks! (in Spanish slang: "se le cayó una sota")
