Well, Miss Vicki Sue Robinson did a cover of "Everlasting Love" on Profile Records in 1983.
Could this be what you're looking for???
FEMALE VOCALIST DID THIS COVER OF THE CARL CARLTON HIT. MY VERSION IS EARLY to MID 80'S I THINK. KIND OF A STEPHANIE MILLS, HAZEL DEAN KIND OF VOICE....

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Marky is probably right (as-bloody-usual!!!LOL), Vickie Sue "Hot Summer Nights" Robinson's was the only major cover of that track (The only other one I have in mind is a horrific more recent thing by Sandra, but not sure is the same track)
I bet, anyway, that Stephanie Mills WOULDN'T be too pleased to have her voice compared to Hazell Dean!!!!!!

Sandra did have a version of "Everlasting Love" around 1988.
France Joli also did a disco version of that song before she switched to Epic Records in 1983...It was really quite good......I had it on a Reel To Reel tape I borrowed from Marv Schlacter and I have no idea (or cannot remember) if it was ever eventually released ? Was it?

Dear friends!
O.K., everyone´s into "Everlasting Love"...
here´s a special cover-version for you.
SOIREE made in 1978, a very strange but
classic DiscoTreatment with elements you
would not recognise the song...
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
Rex Smith also covered the song in 1981, along with a female vocalist whose name I cannot remember.

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Thanks, Markybabe! Whatever happened to Rachel Sweet? They were trying to promote her heavily in NY back in '81.

rachel sweet, the pride of cleaveland, made about 4 albums, which are g-r-e-a-t ....and did get alot of airpaly..toured..signed with stiff records etc etc...but never really took off. since she was 16 when she cut her first record, she quit at about 19
`20 to "have a normal life "
Rachel also did the theme song from the Hairspray movie in 1988.
Just two weeks ago I taped a disco version of "Everlasting love", I don't remember the name of the band now but I'm sure it's none of the above. Must check at home...
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
I found it, the band is called The Love Affair. I had the Carl Carlton version on CD and felt that I knew the song, but in another version. Then I taped this one from a radio oldies show and bingo! Now I think it's the one I remember from the old days.
What was the most popular version, anyway? And who did the original version?

Rachel Sweet recorded the amazing HAIRSPRAY, one of my favorite POP songs of the 80's. And her 1st record is a classic. BTW, I read that she was born in july, 28, 1962, the same day as me! Does anyone here can check this information? Thanx, fellas.
