Hi! I'm trying to find some songs that may or not be available on CD. Can you help with any of these?

Stevie Nick's "Stand Back" in a longer version than the 3-minute radio edit. I understand there are several mixes including one that is about 7 minutes long.

Cindy Lauper's "Time After Time" in a version that lasts around 5 minutes and ends with a natural fade of the keyboards. I understand it has a great piano solo.

The Commodores' "Brick House" in an extended version that lasts somewhere around 7 minutes. I know there is a compilation CD that is supposed to have it but I can't find it anywhere. Is it a European release only?

James Brown's "I Feel Good" in an extended version. I have heard many version with techno, house, and all kinds of beats. I'm looking for the one with the original R&B beat. I got one that lasts 3 1/2 minutes but I understand there is another one that is even longer.

Finally, I'm looking for any CDS that may have just drum breaks, percussion, and anything that can be used to lay the basic beat for mixes. Any suggestions?

The only long version of "Stand Back" I know of is the Discotech Mix. This was a remix service that has since gone out of business. I am not sure what volume it was on and may be hard to find.

There is a 12" version of "Brick House" on a compilation called Funkology. I'll have to pull it out and see what volume it was on. This came out a few years ago and may be out of print, but you may be able to find it. Check the used records stores too.

Rick, I can't help you out more than the last question. I have a LP with drum breaks and some other 12" that you could use as basic beat. I can tell you the title and the reference number and label or any other suggestion.
    Ciao!!!

Ricardo: the 12" version of "Brick house" is in "Funkology" Vol. 1. It's a Motown series on their funk & disco artists. It's a great CD, strongly recommended. Also has "Machine gun", an early hit of the Commodores.
For clean instrument samples you can look at synth and PC magazines (those with people like Moby in the cover), which tend to offer free CDs. "Future Music" is a Spanish one (even with English title) and their CDs are full of samples.

Gracias, grazzie, thanks, domo origato! I found a couple of the songs I mentioned and I guess I'll have to keep looking for the others.

The reason why I'm looking for these songs (and the equipment I mentioned in another post) is because I'm going to start DJing again but just for my own pleasure and fun. I am about to purchase the audio equipment and lights (about $3000 total) and I only need a few songs from the early to mid-80s that I would like to have. Other than that, I'm pretty much set. I'll send you some pictures once I get the equipment and everything else.

    Thanks again! And God Bless!

The Stevie Nicks promo 12" was only 4:56--not a remix--just the LP version. It exists on CD on her box set "Enchanted" in that version.

Thanks again guys! I found "Brick House" in a really loooong version (8:34) in a CD called FUNKY DISCO MIX Vol 3. And it is great!

Massimo, I'm using CDs only, at least for now. I don't have any vinyl anymore and my budget didn't allow me to get turntables when I was buying my new equipment. Quite frankly, I'm happy because with the equipment I got I can do stuff I could have never done before.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this in another post but I ended up buying 2 American DJ ProScratch 2 Cd players and a Gemini PMX1800 mixer. They all have some nice features that I really love, especially the effects.

I'll tell you about the rest of the stuff I got in another post.
