    Hi,

I thought I'd tell you all about a CD I've recently acquired. I first saw it in a Virgin Megastore in Bluewater, but it's also available from Amazon.co.uk at a very cheap price, see http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/.../discomusiccom

    The tracks are as follows:

    1. Paradise - Change

    2. Lipstick - Polnareff, Michel

    3. Tonight's the night - Kleeer

    4. Smack dab in the middle - McClain, Janice

    5. Number one dee jay - Goody Goody

    6. When you wake up tomorrow - Staton, Candi

    7. Weekend - Phreek

    8. You + me = love - Undisputed Truth

    9. Whistle bump - Deodato

    10. Wear it out - Stargard

    11. I'll tell you - Mendes, Sergio & Brasil '88

    12. Sao Paulo - Chic

It's one of those CDs that you play again and again. Despite my extensive collection, I only previously had the Change track on a Change Greatest Hits CD, and Phreek on MP3. Every track is good, so I strongly recommend this CD. Hoping there may be a volume 2 in the future!

I'm in Canada, and I've ordered from Amazon.co.uk, so I don't see why not.

Actually, I recently discovered that Amazon must actually have their act together. It seems that all the international branches share one customer database, so if you order something from .co.uk, and then something else from .ca, you don't have to enter in all your information again... as long as you use the same e-mail address.

9.88 including shipping. Now lets see what it is in dollars

I used the discomusic.com link so if Bernie is entitlted to a commission,he'd get it.

For those who don't want to wait, Amazon.com has it here in the US:

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ex...Go.x=7&Go.y=10

Just be careful if you search without using this link. There are TWO cd's with the title Disco Connection. But, if we're going to buy it, I think we should use at least one of these links and give Bernie some credit.

And thank, Darrens, for the info.

This CD was compiled by Warner Music UK and it's very poor compared to the Disco Vaults series issued by Warner Music Greece.

    Yet, it got a Pan-European release...*sigh*

I HATE to disagree. This one almost looks like the other one without the fillers.

    DeepBeat,

Since Mark sent the Disco Vaults 2 CD I've been featuring it on the main page of this site. I find myself listening to it at least once a week since then. It is a shame that it doesn't have more widespread release since I feel this comp would sell very well. I'm constantly receiving e-mails about where to buy it and I direct them to GEMM. Are there plans for Vol. 3?

    Bernie,

No plans for vol 3 yet, but a new series with 80's material is in the making. I will let everyone know as soon as I have more definite info.

I doubt DV2 will ever appear in GEMM since it has only been released in Greece while volume 1 was released also in Italy thus getting more exposure.

Some people have ordered from a greek on-line store http://www.discobole.gr after e-mailing them to get details in english. As far as I know they are a bit pricey but I hear their service isn't bad. Maybe you could direct those who e-mail you to that site.

FIY this compilation hasn't sold more than 500 copies so far...For the local market it's an expected figure but if it got an international release it would become a best seller for sure.

Oh well...at least you and a couple of other people appreciated it...
