After discussing the classic 'Glow of Love' LP on another thread I went away to listen to this aural paradise & it suddenly struck me how I've never understood some of the lyrics to 'Lovers Holiday'& 'Searching'. This never bothered me too much as i'm not a big lyrics person but it would be nice to know exactly what Luther & the others were singing. I'm O.K. with understanding the other tracks; in fact, the words to the title track are incredibly romantic & uplifting whilst 'Its a Girls Affair' has quite witty & outrageous lyrics in their own way. The best lyrics are on 'The End'; oh sorry thats an instrumental!! (just kidding)
...ya gotta beat the street......
Steely Dan - I am just catching up with what is going on as I have been busy securing my next assignment now that we are done here in Japan.
Now that this is pretty much accomplished, I am dropping in to see what is going on (same old same old... just kidding ).
With regards to the Change lyrics - I can help. But later when I'm home. All CD's released in Japan come with full text inlay in English and Japanese. This is done so that buyers can familiarize themselves with the song lyrics so they can sing them in karaoke bars!
So all of you who thought that the Japanese releases are so complete because of the lyrics inlay... it is for practical purposes and nothing else. Although I have yet to come across a Japanese Change fan belting out "A lover's holiday" at 2 AM...
I will have a look tonight at home and report back later!
