The only two songs I remember with that title would be:

Something about You, Level 42 (Polydor) came out in 1986.

Something about You, Four Tops (Motown) came out in 1965.

same title, different songs, both good. You probably are thinking of the Level 42 act from Manchester, England....that was their biggest hit in the USA, but not necessarily their best.....

Actually, Danceman, sorry to be picky but Level 42 are from the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England & not here in the north of England. What a good group though aren't they? (especially when u consider they 're from the UK!). Have they got a good following in the US?

Hey Steely, now this is very interesting....

Years ago, we did a audio taped interview with Level 42 and ABC (both being Polygram Records' acts) at about the same time - in the summer of '86....in the interview, Mark King, I believe was the lead singer's name, told us HE was from Manchester, and didn't elaborate where the other three were from....so the editor just assumed they all were from there as Manchester is where the interview took place.....

Martin Fry, from ABC, was far more interesting, however, cannot remember where he hailed from...

Thanks for the heads up, Steely, and for keeping a close eye on the facts....

Cos it's a long long way...long way...a long way to undress you...

    Voyage,

Are you sure you have those lyrics right????

Cause they don't really make much sense!!!

"long long way to undress you"

Does that mean it takes a long time to undress you? I mean you can "take the long way home" BUT how can you take the long way to undress??? Hmmm???

Well I guess you could say that...BUT it don't make much sense.

    Marky:

Maybe you're right, maybe I've misunderstood the lyrics... So I guesshere goes the song again:

Starts with a brief instrumental interlude...the song begins...and then says after sometime

    cos it's a long long way...long way...a long way (????)

    early 90s dance song..male voice

    I'll appreciate your help

Yes, Martin Fry is a very interesting & intelligent person whenever I've seen him interviewed; the lyrics he writes for ABC are often original & clever IMO. He comes from Sheffield which is not far from Manchester in the north of England.
