Masdefi, I have a CD compilation of Rah Band on Music Club label which is a UK label. It includes those tracks listed by Discodisk plus 'Winter Love', 'Rock Me Down to Rio', 'Sam the Samba Man', 'Mystery Boy', & 'Out on the Edge' so its the definitive Rah Band collection & all the tracks are full length originals.
I have the address of Music Club records which u could write to & hopefully they could give u availability info on this CD: Prodcat, MCI, 36-38 Caxton Way, Watford, Herts, UK, WD1 8UF.
I haven't got an e-mail address for them I'm afraid. Hope this is helpful to you.

    Hey Steely Dan, thanks!
Could you recognize in this CD a song like this:
BPM: around 100-110 (but this could not be real,I'm not sure)
    Style: dance-jazzy
Year: not after 1980, the song should be from 1978 or 1979 or 1980

The song starts with a vocoder, you can hear some piano below. I can't recognize the words. After around 1:30, vocoder stops and then there's a good part of saxophone, nearly a sax solo...
Then after 1:00 of sax solo, again the vocoder, with some flashes of accordion (Stevie Wonder's style...)

    Any guess?
    Thanks
    Masdefi

Well Masdefi, it certainly sounds like something the Rah Band would've done but i cant find a track that quite fits your description. The nearest one is 'Rock Me down to Rio' as it features vocoder, saxophone & Stevie Wonder-ish keyboard sounds but is faster than 110 b.p.m. I would say, & it came out in '82 so it is later than the one you are talking about. Wow, I came close to finding it 4 you there didnt I? Hope u find the answer soon.

Just a bit of trivia 4 you; Richard Hewson, the brains behind Rah Band, wrote 'Beyond' for Herb Alpert. I suddenly feel like Michael Caine; I'll be saying 'not alot of people know that' soon!

Steely Dan, you intrigue me soooooooo much... I wonder if you can just sample that song for just 30 seconds not more in mp3 and send it to me to my email.... let me try!
Can you do that for me?
    Thanks in advance

Otherwise, more easy if you enter into my locker and give a listen to the track 19b2x, that's the song... can you go there??

Madefi - the mystery is still not solved!

With regards to the Rah Band, I recommend that you email Giovanni, who is also a board member here. He likes the Rah Band very much. I traded a Rah Band album I had double with him for the Rudy album. He wanted the Rah Band album because of the "Sam the Samba Man" track.

I have another Rah Band album at home so I will track your mystery song against that.

    Hi maarten,
Giovanni doesn't know the song. He is trying his best to help me, too. BTW did you transfer to Germany yet?
