Agree with all of that cause I like these guys too. I also loved the oh so popular Sara Smile.

This was for me "the song"

I CAN'T GO FOR THAT rapidly went to #1 on Billboard's disco/dance chart ... as much as I liked it .... when it was the best dance could offer ..........

I suspected it was over .

Their most "DISCO" record was from 1979: RUNNING FROM PARADISE; there was a 12"--sorta overlooked in the glut of product-but very good.;)

Sorry to make this a downer ... but I'm sort of in a pissy mood anyway Marky ... and its your fault :p :???: !!

I'd like to hear that '79 tune of theirs .... esp. if it's more disco.

Looking over the rest of their stuff ......sort of a one note duo aren't they ......if they blended it all into a medley .... who could tell !!

Daryl Hall did a great, hypnotic, sexy song on one of his solo albums that didn't get much attention but it's worth checking out. It's called "What's Gonna Happen To Us?" It reminds me of the S.O.S. Band's very sensual "Tell Me If You Still Care". If you see Hall's album "Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine" at a decent price, check out that song. I found the rest of the album quite forgettable.

go to allmusic.com and search for the "X-Static" LP and there is a sound clip...however, it's all instrumental intro--no vocal.

oh dear Marky .....look at this comment posted at Amazon ............

But from the sixth track "Running From Paradise," its title says it all. A silly, unfocused dud, it is the worst song on the album, and, things start to fall apart from then on. It's a dry spell that even Oates's tough rocker "Bebop/Drop," and the silly but melodic charm of "Intravino" can't save. The two bonus tracks on the Buddha Records reissue of the album I have not heard; instead I have an earlier Japanese import CD.

butwait ! ......... there was also this :
This Album holds it's own with the best music Hall & Oates has ever done. You should never expect artists to do the same thing over and over again and this album is way diffrent from the others. This album for me ranks as Hall & Oates big album like "Rumours" to Fleetwood Mac or Supertramps "Breakfast in America". Just because a record company doesn't promote an album doesn't mean it's not worthy of that title. I could play this album over agian and again a must have for die hard fans

remicks, there are always the disco-haters--they would hate Running From Paradise--but you might like it. It's their most disco production. That's my point. It's a melding of Pop/Rock with Disco--but sounds real Disco to me.
