Hi Alvaro,
I know a Hot Tracks remix (from Street Tracks Vol. 5) of "I Wanna Sex You Up". The remix is 6:19 and has a danceable structure.
Anyone remember the song? It was "I wanna sex you up" by Color Me Badd. It came out some time in the early nineties and I thought it sucked! However, back then I was going to school in Boston and the local radio station (Kiss 108) had a version of this song that was awesome. It added a strong beat which made it funky and quite danceable.
I finally decided to call the station to ask them where I could obtain a copy of it. They said it was a promo, so I was out of luck. All I could do was record it from the radio to a cassette tape, which I was lucky to do once, but then I lost the tape.
So my question is, has anyone heard that promo version of the song? And if so, do you know how can I get a copy of it?
Thanks!
Alvaro

i remember this also. it was remixed by someone at the station.. or outside of the station. it had that "walk this way - run dmc" type of beat to it.
i had a friend who worked there back around 86/87 who did remixes for the station named al colosi. apparently when i called there around 92 or so, he wasn't working there anymore.. so the only true connection i had was gone. i have the x-mix version of it that kinda sounds like it, but not quite the same. if you ever find out anything more about this, please let me know as i want this just as bad as you.

Alvaro, I couldn't agree more my friend!
...ya gotta beat the street......
But didn't MOST ALL of the dance music suck in the 90's ????
I Believe In The Boogie, But Lovin\' Is Really My Game.
danceman,
what planet did you come from?
On a Planet, NOT far enough away from the dance music scene of the last 10 years...that is for sure!
sorry if I offended anyone's musical sensibilities - but as this is DISCOMUSIC.com and not ANYOTHERKINDOFMUSICOTHERTHANDISCO.com
I feel justified and stand by my opinion.

WHAT?
You mean this isn't "www.tired909soundsandlittleelse.com"?
Or "www.stalehousebeatsandsampledyelps.com"?
Or "www.shriekingsquawkingdivawitheurocheeseproductio n.com"?
Or "www.onenotetrancetracks.com"?
Seriously though, I do have an issue with the people who think all dance music is disco, for disco has no boundaries... by this logic, any music -- any sound, even -- is disco. Metallica, Gregorian chants, demolition crews... all disco. Hell, even John Cage's 4'33" is disco. Boogie down!!
Danceman, I think your planet sounds great! Can I visit?
Graham, once again I so agree with you ( I'm so agreeable!). It sometimes irritates me that so many types of dance music are discussed here too. I mean, C.J.Lewis - pllllease! I even think that alot of the funk that's talked about isnt relevant to disco. Oh god, I'm going to upset people now- I really do like alot of funk, but it isnt strictly disco is it?
...ya gotta beat the street......
