Is there anybody who knows when the first release of R to the A by CJ Lewis was? Is this an american artist?
It's a nice song but it seems to be difficult to find it out...
    Cheers...

CJ Lewis was a British Rap Artist, who recorded mainstream, radio friendly pop rap with female backing. He had a string of hits in the UK in 1994/5, most of which were based on old Soul and Funk songs, with sung choruses and an original rap during the verses.

His UK Top 40 hits were as follows:
23 Apr 94 Sweets for my sweet #3
23 Jul 94 Everything is alright (uptight) #10
08 Oct 94 Best of my love #13
    17 Dec 94 Dollars #34
    09 Sep 94 R to the A #34

"R to the A" was based around the groove of "And the beat goes on" by the Whispers.

Other than that, his songs are definitely not disco, more like sacrilege!

Thanks for your help. I agree with you it's a sacrilege, but look now how many sacrileges have been doing nowadays in disco scene! Plenty of copies, covers and so on...

Anyway, I think from your reply that CJ Lewis issued a Lp during 1994. It is so? If so, could you tell me the Lp title? Was the song "R to the A" issued on vinyl 12" ? :???: I found a issue of "R to the A" in 1995... not 1994...
