Does anyone else think that this is one of the most original & best-written programs ever? I'm totally addicted to it & I think I even prefer it to Sex in the City (the program, that is!). The gay character David is so believable & refreshing after years of whacky, chirpy, safe & 'nice' gay characters (i.e.Jack in 'Will & Grace' to name but one.) His ex (the policeman) is one of the most attractive men I've seen, & I've seen a few over the years!

Excellent show. I missed a few episodes but still tune in as often as I can. The characters are great, it's well written and well acted. I'm sure I'll be catching more of the new season since I stopped (TOTALLY) giving a damn about the total disgrace that's "Will & Grace". The show is nothing but hetero-huggable pabulum.

I agree with you about Six Feet Under. I think that cable offers much better programming and since Network TV is getting back this year to the Donna Reed/Father Knows Best type of shows but even more badly written (with the exception of "Raymond"), I think that Cable is going to swing even more and more viewers over to their side....My question is when are all these good cable shows coming back, as I don't keep up with the TV listings like I should.....Will Six Feet be back within six weeks? Did Brenda drive off the series for good when she got into her packed car and took off? Is David going to adopt a child this year? Is Nate going to die, be a vegetable or come back with a Beautful Mind? Inquiring Minds want and need to know!

I believe I heard the actor who plays David say on a talk show, he is not gay in real life. The show is "Fresh Air." Does your "gaydar" tell you otherwise

I doubt that "Six Feet Under" will be back on the air until "The Sopranos" finishes it's current run. I don't think they have begun production yet on another season of "Six" yet. We rep several actor's that recur on it and no one's booked anything since last season. HBO usually alternates it's big powerhouse shows in the Sunday 9:00pm timeslot: "Sopranos"/"Six Feet Under"/Sex & The City".

I am hot for the straight Nate (Peter Krause), not the gay David. I like this show BUT strangely, don't feel compelled to watch the reruns--once seems enough for me. BUT it is an interesting show. I really like Lauren Ambrose, the young sister of the 2 brothers. I think she creates an amazingly real portait of a modern teen-- one who knows too much and is jaded and world-weary beyond her years, yet somehow yearns for innocence. Does that make any sense??? She just seems so original to me.

Brenda has annoyed me in the past; ditto her nutcase brother; Mom is such a basket-case and full of contradictions. Most of the cast got Emmy nominations--so we may see some of them making that run to the podium to accept their Emmy, given that "The Sopranos" wasn't eligible this year. (It didn't air last year).

I don't know whether the actor who plays David, Michael C. Hall is gay in real life--never heard of him before this show. He has recently been on Broadway doing the male lead in "Chicago"--soooo musical comedy IS in his repetoire. Make your own assumptions!!!

I've also seen him on the talk show circut saying he's not gay when the question is asked. Same with the brother playing the policeman. Well, one can and must dream...

I wonder why they never ask gay actors what it's like playing a straight role. Oh, wait, that's right... WE'RE IN THE HOLLYWOOD CLOSET!!

Totally agree. She plays the part so well, she must surely have a successful career ahead of her, whatever she does.

I didn't realise this was on cable in the U.S. I did wonder how they got away with alot of the raunchier stuff.

Well, I can say for sure that the first episode for the next season started filming today 9/17--and that one of the plot lines involves David & Keith going to a gay therapist for couples counselling and another about Claire meeting a sensitive young art student in one of her classes.

I'd guess that we won't be seeing any of this til early 2003.

I would love to have heard from some like the guy who played the dad in "The Brady Bunch." I've heard Florence Henderson talk about how unrelaxed his kisses were.

In the new issue of the ADVOCATE...dated 10/1/02...page 54, re: the deGAYing of the new TV season....the news is that the first good cable show to return is OZ in January 2003 on HBO; followed by SIX FEET UNDER in March 2003 on HBO and QUEER AS FOLK in the summer of 2003 on SHOWTIME....(that being the case, I will probably be hanging around here a lot more during the remainder of 2002....but I ain't complainin')
