I don't know about you, but either I have become jaded watching this series (I have seen most, not all, episodes) or this show's scriptwriters are getting to complacent with their big egos and fat paychecks....I thought that for a show getting as much p.r. hype that it did for being off the air for 16 months, the viewers deserved more than watching Tony scratchin' his ba-da-bing balls in front of the TV set and bitching about the state of the economy with his family and cronies...If I was a first time viewer, I would be a last time viewer...the only action was with Christopher and he is getting to be one dimensional and predictable....I guess I will still watch...but they should spice up the show by having one of the Goombas get caught renting a Tom of Finland video or maybe have Tony getting it on with a transvestite and then go crawling and crying to Dr. Melfi before conjuring up visits to his mother in Rock 'n' Roll Hell.....I liked the show better when it was followed by Queer as Folk (a far superior and entertaining show - I know I will get commentaries - on Showtime)...sorta like getting your just desserts after a less than hearty main course.....Oh Brian, where art thou?
I'm sorry Fairuza Balk wasn't able to remain as the undercover agent. She would really have made the show a bit more interesting for me. The first episode was very lackluster. Sometimes it appears that Lorraine Bracco is reading her lines under the influence of heavy medication.

Well I normally really like this show, but I dozed off in the last 15 or so minutes last night. However, I hear it picks up in the second episode.
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" was pretty funny, however.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I've never seen it and since one of my co-workers said to me, "You're not missing anything", I guess that about sums up my participation.

Nicky,
I don't wanna knock you co-worker's taste--BUT "The Soprano's" is one of the greatest TV dramas in the history of television, IMHO. The first season was incredible!!! It's been up and down (mostly UP!!!) since the great Nancy Marchand died and her scheming Livia is greatly missed, but James Gandolfini & Edie Falco and most of the rest of the cast are superb. I'd highly recommend renting the previous seasons and start watching!!!!
There's so much history to catch up on...I don't know if you could possibly begin to grasp the series' depth, if you haven't seen the previous episodes. There's a whole lot of **** that's gone down...some great writing, directing and acting to savor.
We repped David Proval who played Richie Aprile in the second season but was shot by Aida Turturro (Tony's sister, Janis) when he hit her one time too many.

I'm with ya Nicky. In fact judging from your response to other TV shows, it reads like we have the similar viewing habits. On 2002-09-16 20:13, NickNack wrote:

Oh, as for Sopranos, I guess I'm still just a little burnt out on the Goombah loveable murderer types I've seen done by DeNiro, Pacino and on and on...
Find them and destroy them!
Nicy & Paul,
I don't think you'd have that low opinion of "The Sopranos" IF you'd been watching since the beginning. At least I hope not!!!!
To each his own...BUT this show is brilliant at best and most always, interesting, at worst.
But then, I find "The West Wing" vastly overrated and boring...so maybe I shouldn't talk, eh????

I'm always down for some good acting and in an attempt to be fair I am going to rent season one. But, like Paul, after Godfather and Goodfellas ad nauseam I just don't give a **** about this genre anymore. I'll try and keep my bias in check while watching. On 2002-09-17 03:16, markydefad wrote:
