I found this CD in a second-hand store and it was a real bargain, so I bought even as the CD had no cover (luckily the songs titles and artists figure on the CD itself). Apparently is titled "Doctor Love - Disco Classics" and released by the Disky label (DCD 5397). I bought in the past two good soul compilations by this label, called "This is soul" and "Soul Hits", both with non Stax nor Motown material (mostly Buddah, Malaco and other small indies), which made them interesting for me to discover "new" things (certainly I developed a strong Al Green fixation for some time). Those said "made in Holland" and were 2 CDs each, but this one it's made in France and apparently is only 1 CD.
Didn't know any of the songs beforehand but there are well-known artists aplenty, so... Here's the full list, with smilies on the songs I found most interesting on first listening:

LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY - Love sensation (6:32)
FIRST CHOICE - Doctor Love (7:34)
JOCELYN BROWN - Pickin' up promises (3:35)
WORLD PREMIERE - Share the night (7:20)
    SKYY - Call me (6:22)
FREDDIE JACKSON & EDNAH (sic) HOLT - Ain't got time for guessin' (3:55)
POSITIVE FORCE - We got the funk (6:50)
THE TRAMMPS - Sixty minute man (4:49)
THE RIMSHOTS - Blow your whistle (3:32)
HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUE NOTES - Satisfaction guaranteed (3:16)
COMMODORES - Going to the bank (4:24)
REAL THING - You to me are everything (3:27) (ain't this a Barry White song?)
JIMMY JAMES - I'll go where music takes me (3:26)
PHILADELPHIA ALL STARS - Let's clean up the ghetto (4:08)

Only the last one struck a chord on my hear... I certainly had heard that sometime! And it's sung by Billy Paul himself! The others sound like a bunch of Philly lesser tracks with some later ones on the funky-disco vein, and a couple (sadly the Commodores') with electronic beats.
Do you know them? Is there any "important" track that I don't know of?

Nano - Very nice collection. World Premiere's "Share the night" has always been a favorite of mine, even though you sort of have to be in the mood for that mad synth solo. And I actually also quite like the "Going to the bank" track by Commodores. That track was recorded after Lionel went solo (this track was followed by "Janet", another nice post-Lionel Commodores track which has also been recorded by Bobby Caldwell).

I think Disky is actually a Dutch record company. Any mention of where the disc was made?

Actually I hoped you knew them. This album reads "made in France" but the two soul compilations I bought earlier are made in Holland.
I remember when I purchased those two to have looked for a disco compilation on this label, but to no avail. This records came to Argentina as imports and, given the local crisis, would not enter no mo'.
The soul compilations ("This is soul" and "Soul hits", both two CDs each) have very interesting material, such as:

BOBBY WOMACK - This is what I feel about cha
JOHNNY ACE - Pledging my time
AL GREEN - For the good times; God is standing by; How can you mend a broken heart
JOE TEX - Loose caboose; Buying a book
ISAAC HAYES - Theme from "Shaft"
TIMMY THOMAS - Why can't we live together
WILLIAM DEVAUGHN - Be thankful for what you've got
and other material by Bobby Bland, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Four Tops, Etta James, Booker T. & the MGs, George McCrae, Sam Cooke, etc. etc. etc.

    Hi, Nano
I'd like to detach in yours CD songs Sixty Minute Man/The Trammps, this song is from the 1975 Trammps' album, some people considers the best Trammps'album.
Doctor Order/First Choice , 1977, has originally 7:34 but there's a Salsoul CD where Doctor Order appears with 8:19, it's too much for a disco lover !

    Hi Nano,

"Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway and "Call Me" by Skyy are Salsoul classics. They are even included in the Salsoul label's Classic series.

You might recognize "Love Sensation" as one of the songs sampled to death and then some. Marky Mark (Wahlberg) used it in his early career after 'New Kids...' and then it was made famous all over again by Black Box with "Ride On Time". That intro you hear is Loleatta and the phrase "Cause you're right on time" is part of the lyric of the song.

Poor Loleatta, like Martha Wash, everybody ripping off her sound/voice and sending no money.

Just to clarify --- Marky didn't rip her off. He actually had her in his video.

Thank you Nick, Marcio and Maarten for your comments. It's a nice disc actually. And the Philly orchestra is a boot.
