Time to stir up those brain cells, damaged though they may be.

    I THOUGHT I WAS HIP/THOUGHT I WAS ON A LOVE TRIP/STARDUST WAS IN MY EYES/GUESS I DIDN'T SEE THE SIGNS.

I think the jazz/funksters will crash my party first this time.

    Good one, CA Mike!!!!

I too flashed on Roberta Flack, BUT I couldn't make a connection with a song. Isn't it strange how our subconscious mind works. I had no clue it was "God Don't Like Ugly"--BUT that Roberta Flack LP just sorta popped into my brain. But I totally dismissed it. DUH. In fact, DOUBLE DUH.

Excellent, CaliforniaMike. Right the first time around. I just thought the title was so apropos for this week. On a good note, I've been blasting it and "Back Together Again".

BTW, anyone ever notice that the 12" of "BTA" is shorter than the lp? I think they felt the ending went on too long.

OMGod, that LP brings back so many sad memories for me in the late summer of 1980...first, not only was it a posthumous recording hit for Donny, it was also the last songs I ever heard played back in late September at the Copa in Cherry Grove, Fire Island...(the DJs loved that whole album)..as the next thing I knew the Copa burned to the ground (I was already back in the city)....not the worst tragedy, however, as AIDS-related deaths which impacted upon the Island BIG TIME, were just a year or two away. I never went to Fire Island again.
