    Ru,

don't know about CDs coz I only collect vinyls (12s and LPs). The only CDs I have are of newer and current stuff or of oldies that are mostly on 7".
By the way I recommend another wonderful LARRY PAGE track: " it's titled "Rampage" and is on a US London 12".

I am surprised that people here hold the Larry Page Orchestra in such high esteem, although I don't deny owning some of his releases. Perhaps it's because I knew him from President records and Page One records. The former was the Equals record label and was fairly heavily into early reggae. Page One was a label of sugary sweet pop acts including Picketywhich if I remeber correctly. Larry page was a product of London's tin pan alley and tried almost anything to make a buck including making 'mock' Disco records. I could never quite get over HIS cynicism. Perhaps, in some ways, he typified what was wrong with the Disco boom. Suddenly everyone of any age wanted a piece of the action, and boy did they go out there and get it!
I suppose Disco WAS for all ages, but I kinda like the idea that pop music should be about youth and rebellion. Unfortunately Disco allowed too many 'Old Timers' to partly seize control of pop back from the youth of the day. That's why, although I don't like the music at all, Punk is viewed now as the vital music force of the mid seventies and not Disco. We were all 'duped' and lapped it up.

    Qinny,
you are raising a most philosophic problem. I mostly agree with you concerning many "recycled" artists that disco allowed to perform, but you have to remember that most of these people did not got any success with their disco tries at that time.
In the mid and late 70s punk/new wave was THE thing in white & rock music and disco/funky was THE think in black music. Both of these musical movements introduced new ideas and concepts, independently from "names and labels" you can put on a artist.
Nowday I listen to some disco track with a different ear then when I djed and discover each day beautiful sounds that weren't mainstream in the 70s, but that anyway have been released then.
If you have or find a copy of "Rampage" by Larry Page, try to listen to it and let me know.
