    Hello all,
A question. Has anyone heard of the 1975 original pressing of Jumbo's LP Turn On To Love on PYE Records with the cover being the black guy from Jumbo in an orgy with a bunch of white gals???? I heard about this from a friend and I did some checking into it and have located a copy on PYE which the store told me its a black cover so, Im going to buy it to see. Its gonna cost me 40 bucks but hell, whatever this is its a collectors item 4 sure!! Let me know if anyone knows of this pressing.

Yes...i saw the former artwork when it was being re-handled by Prelude Records in early '77...

for some reason, working at Michael's Thing rag (yes, NRG) I was used to bizarre covers like that, so I wasn't very moved at the time......of course, Prelude toned the cover to a more PG-ish rating as they were just starting to make a name for themselves....

I have the US Pye pressing of "Turn On To Love" and it has the tame cover (same as Canadian copies).

Jussi tells me that the original Euro sleeve was risqué even for the time...

Oh, and my copy also has a black background, so this might be the same one that the store has. You might want to think twice before shelling out $40 for that -- I got a sealed copy the other day for $2 Cnd. The cover I have just has a scantily-clad woman on the front.

I have all the 3 different version:

European release on HANSA: A black guy with 3 or 4 naked creeping females. This is the most oseé cover

US release on PYE: A girl on a black background. Not so sexy

US release on PRELUDE: Same as above but the background is red.

Say What? My Hansa sleeve of Turn On To Love has no orgies going on. There is a totally naked woman laying on a beach though and get this some of her pubic hair is quite visible. Not a common sight even during the 70's. Some of us had this bush discussion earlier here - an important subject for sure. The album's whole title in my very high quality audio pressing is "Dance Dance Dance to Jumbo 76 - Turn On To Love". I used to seque it out of Macho's "Mucho Macho" - no relation to the Malavesi stuff but a cultish title from the Fatback players or so says the recent cd realese - and play the middle part of the record only in club situations, beginning from the break with the ocean sounds.

Well, thank you people. WOW, sounds like there are alot of different covers but the one with the black guy and naked chicks is the one I was looking for. I have been saved a big mistake in buying the wrong one and paying 40 bucks for the same cover I already have except with a black background. Hmmm, now it looks like Ill have to track down the 1976 Hanasa one too with this girl on the beach??
