Betty Davis was one of the funkiest, sexiest ladies that ever graced a record cover (her music wasn't too bad either...)

Seriously, a very underrated artist. I understand what Miles Davis saw to decide to marry her...

    Hey ruoffended,

a friend of mine recorded for me 2 CDs by the great Betty Davis, BETTY DAVIS (1973) and THEY SAY I'M DIFFERENT (1974), 2 brilliant, groovy, funky records! Other record by Mrs. Davis released is HANGIN' OUT IN HOLLYWOOD, a somewhat strange album with an all star cast. This one is good, but not as good as the 2 CDs I mentioned earlier on this post.

Reading the autobiography by MILES DAVIS, I discovered that Betty introduced the black panther of Jazz to the funky sounds of SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE and JIMI HENDRIX (she was a friend of JIMI - or more than a friend...). So, Betty Davis influenced MILES at the time. The results of this influence? BITCHES BREW, ON THE CORNER...

Recently I read something about Betty Davis. I read that she is planning to record an album again. Does anyone here have more info about Betty Davis? (the singer, please!)

    Peace,

RU, I think that all of her albums have been re-issued on CD in the UK.
I have a "Best Of" CD issued a few years back. I'm sure you'll be able to find her CDs at some UK on-line store.

    Hi RU,

Deep is right, these CDs are released in England a few years ago and I think they are still available.
