"I Didn't Know" is a song I remember that is also to my liking. Sometime around 1978 I think is when I heard it but perhaps the liner notes for your cd will say. That song was played fairly often in Connecticaut.
This weekend I bought 3 CDs at Big Lots for $6 each.
The Three Degrees - "Turnin' Up the Heat"
Tracks are:
"When Will I see You Again" 2:59
"Loving Cup" 3:06
"I Didn't Know" 2:48
"Distant Lover" 4:03
"Dirty Ol' Man" 4:35 This is a very different and (I think) better "mix" than the one I have on a Philly Classics CD.
"A Woman Needs A Good MAn" 4:19
"Can't You See What You're Doing to Me" 2:34
"Here I Am" 3:54
"Long Lost Lover" 2:58
"Take Good Care of Yourse;f" 3:24
Can anyone comment on these songs? The only ones I've heard before now are "When Will I See You Again" and "Dirty Ol' Man."
I also bought The Best Disco Album in the Universe Volumes 3 and 4! I was so happy to find these. I have Volume 1 and had not seen any more. This series boasts club disco and obscurities, so not all of it is considered "disco" but some are forerunners to House, Techno and Ambient. What the hell -- it's all dance or R & B. The sound quality is excellent. I hope I can find all of the CDs in the series. Someone on this baord mentioned that there are 14, I believe.
Does anyone else have any comments about this series?
In addition, I have been listening to my gf's Nicole C. Mullens' new CD, "Talk About It." The whole CD is AWESOME! Songs 2 and 11 are very danceable! I highly recommend it, but be forewarned: It has a Christian message. The title song (#2) "Talk About It" is super danceable!

Find them and destroy them!
Take Good Care of Yourself was a single in the UK and did reasonably well.
Lean, most of those cuts are from their Philadelphia International days, just prior to their stint with Giorgio Moroder on Ariola Records.
The 3 Degrees did some stuff with Stock Aitken Waterman in 1985 b4 their naff Kylie & Sonia phase, & I thought they were brilliant but got nowhere. One track called 'The Heaven I Need' is always on my turntable.
Edwin Starr did some v.good stuff with SAW also which again got overlooked by the public. Shame.
...ya gotta beat the street......
