the title track from that album has always been a favourite of mine although I know that Do You Love Me was very popular.

Over the past long bank holiday weekend here in the UK, I went to a car boot sale. Basically, you got to a field in a farm, and people sell second hand stuff out of the boots (trunks) of their cars. There are usually great bargains to be hand, and yesterday was no exception!
I picked up these four items at 50p (75 cents) apiece:
Mass Production - Shante (UK 12")
Conway Brothers - Turn It Up (UK 12")
Patti Austin - Every Home Should Have One (US import LP)
Various Artists compilation on Verve - Soul Bossa Nova incl George Benson, Quincy Jones, Sergio Mendes, Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz etc (UK CD)
All that lot for $3 - not bad!! And all the vinyl was in perfectly playable condition!
One question for you guys - I would be interested to know which are your favourite tracks from the Patti Austin LP ?
If it moves - funk it!!

I wish there were some Mass Production records floating about in my area, I've downloaded "Welcome To Our World" and it's fantastic. Anyhow Jazz looks like you've found yourself a great bargain.
I sometimes go to the Dapto markets and I usually come home with some supercool disco and funk records whether it be LP, 12", 45, CD or sometimes cassette. Usually I get them for a price ranging from 50 cents to $2 Australian. At the Salvos they only charge 50 cents for records no matter what they are and in the past I've found some fantastic disco records some in superb condition especially Sylvers "Showcase" LP and Brass Construction's self-titled LP.
Australia mate! The land of many great funkateers!
To make you even more jealous Funky, I remember picking up the 2 Mass Production LPs I own when I was studying in Germany in the early 80's for DM 4 (80p / US 1.20) each!! Bargains!
You know, it's just the luck of the draw. Sometimes I go for weeks and find nothing...and then you find all that lot in one Boot Sale!!
The best find I had at a Boot Sale was finding an original US import copy of the '71 Kool and The gang LP "Kool Jazz" for £6. Fantastic find!
Don't give up, Funky!! In amongst all those Abba records in the bargain bins - you may just find a gem!!!
Get yourself that MD, Funky, and those two Mass Prod LPs will be winging their way out to you!!!!!

I guess that the best bargains that i ever did is the ones that i did today!
I went to a flea market and found these records for 1 Euro each:
DONALD AUSTIN - CRAZY LEGS - 1973 Eastbound records (fantastic instrumental funk record)
I've seen this one sell for 125 EUROS in a local collectors recordshop, I got it for 1 Euro in a near mint condition. Now that's a bargain!
MONGO SANTAMARIA - MOMGO '70 - 1970 Atlantic records (Latin flavoured R&B-jazz with great bongo drumming)
Great record cover-art, still in the original plastic wrap. I saw someone bid 30 Dollars for it on a collectors site.
THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH - Undisputed truth - 19?? European TAMLA MOTOWN release.
This is a great album! the track: BALL OF CONFUSION is simply genius. It gave me goosebumps listening to it. Also their cover of California soul is one the best i've ever heard.
I have no idea what the value of this album is, but i'm sure its more than 1 Euro.
And finally
LTG - EXCHANGE - 1975 RCA records
This is great, i've only once heard of this band before in one of the posts on this forum. So when i gave it a first listening i was very much surpised to find this great early disco funk album. Great tracks like Waterbed, Give it love, Tsen si yen yen, Corazon,.. And it's an almost mint condition record! Again this got to be a bargain right?
And to think of that i just bought the albums because of the good looking covers, not because I knew the artist or their music.
