He made some other stuff but never repeated his first success. Seems to have dissappeared.

He still does record but the music doesn't have the vibrant energy that it used to have.
Though he didn't have that MEGA success that he got with Funkin' For Jamaica, he got a decent run on the radio and in the skating rinks with Thighs High, Rockin' Radio, Secret Fantasy, Come For a Ride and on most jazz oriented stations, Brighter Tomorrow8-)
...at least here in the Tri-state area.
Secret Fantasy 12" version can be found on the flip side of the "Loop" 12 inch

"The Problem is....Choice."
There's another Tom Brown i played in the early 80's - "Fungi Mama"
qdearl, thanks for reminding me about Thighs High. I loved that song. This song was very popular.
Find them and destroy them!
R N Browne from 1999 on Hip Bop Essence consisted soley of contemporary covers. It was a tad uninspired but how can you remake Loose Ends "Hangin' on a string."
Believe it or not, I had never actually listened to that cut on the LP, but now that I've heard it, I agree it's definitely worth mentioning:-D
and Paul - Hey man, Thigh's High was just as popular 'round here as Funkin' For Jamaica, at one time I thought they were both on the same LP, as on the radio, they went from playing Funkin' all the time to playing Thigh's High all the time, back to back!

I also thought "Secret Fantasy" was great, but not quite as wild. And Browne's album "Love Approach" is so hard to find that I bought 3 copies of it. The rapper Tone Loc sampled "Funkin' for Jamaica" and didn't acknowledge the source of the song. Naughty naughty. Vanilla Ice got sued for doing that.
