Nope; did play "Don't Let Go" by Isaac Hayes though; cool song.

Yes and no. It was a white label, never knew which artist and I only recently discovered to my surprise that it was theTie-a-yellow-ribbon-dude
I always thought it was something from the Cerrone-school. But I spinned it into pieces and I still luuv that track!
I was in Germany and never heard it.
I returned in late '79 and did play the Issac Hayes version.
The original version of "Don't let go" is by Roy Hamilton an early 60's R&B/Gospel track in the style of Ray Charles. Charley Records put a best of Roy Hamilton out a while ago he was a great talent.
I may be wrong, but they don't have the same lyrics? :-o
Talking about the Orlando vs Hayes versions.
I don't get it either. They're both different songs aren't they?
Tony's version was released first .... and I wasn't DJing then , but loved the record . When he was here at the fair recently I'd hoped he'd liven up his show at some point with it .... but he did everything else of his but this ......
Isaac's was one of my all time favorites .....seemed to transform the club into something all its own .....dark and slinky ..... the dirty lowdown ... always seemingly about to climb out of it ... then suddenly quickly dropping back low again..... lots of fun to work the lights to...
Has anyone toyed with mixing these two together ???:icon_question:
