Bonjour, I like to read this disco forum but I would also like to find one a little more funky/soul (and as good quality as this one !), talking about artist like Kashif, Paul Laurence, Gerald Alston, Con funk shun, Maze, Kenny Burke, Rene & Angela, Skool Boyz you know what I mean...

Does anyone have an address (or two) for me ?

    Greetings from Brussels

    Yes, I know.....discomusic.com!!

It's here!! We have people here who like and talk about this funky/disco groups.

We have some users more into "pure disco" and others into "funk/soul/disco".
    Some users into funk/disco:

Blaxman, Jazz_Pilgrim, Sammyperez, Zeca Azevedo, Funky Dude, Nano, Sutnop, Masdefi.........sorry guys if I forgot somebody.....my memory sucks!!

But, as you can see.....this is "The Right Place" (BTW, great song by Brass Contruction - a great funk band)

    Peace

you're looking at the 1980s r&b and club music which i have a real soft spot in my heart for...no doubt this board is very, very comprehensive on that...yet, if you want a speicalized board for that defiently take a look at http://www.danceclassic.com

...they're out of Amsterdam and have online shows of nothing but 80s r&b/club classics....

other links you might want to look:

    http://www.oldiesfunk.com/entrer.html

(French 1980s r&b/club radioshow...lots of obscure records in there)

    http://www.daytonfunk.com/

a site that chronicles some of the biograghies of the Dayton, Ohio funk bands such as Slave and Dayton....it has other comprehensive links as well.

    http://www.muzi.de/nuke/html/index.php

another great 80s site from Germany that's quite comprehensive and they just recently added a 70s section...

    http://w1.887.telia.com/~u88703496/special.htm

a good personal site from Sweden

    http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~keepon/index.html

this Japanese site has covers of a lot of 80s material...a lot of stuff that i drool over finding one day!

let me know how it goes...with well tidings and kind regards,

Thank you for some great sites but no funky/soul forum up to the quality of this one so I will stay with you all and ask some questions in the near future !

Hey, nice one!! You won't regret it!!

I'll give you a good example of why you won't...I can tell you that it was through this Board that I bought a Con Funk Shun comopilation a few months ago, and it was only this weekend that I was getting on down to "Ffun", their most successful record...

As for Maze - one of my all-time favourite groups! "Joy And Pain" is the anthem of all anthems to me. And yesterday I was playing "Back In Stride Again".

So - that goes to show - there's a lot of people with similar taste to you!! Look forward to your contributions!
