"After The Love Has Gone" was released 1985 as the first single from her upcoming album "Princess" (1986)
Other singles from the album: "Say I'm your No1..", "Tell me Tomorrow", In "The Heat Of A Passionate Moment"

All are top class and for me this album is one of the last that belongs to the greatest musical Era of all times, The one that started in the mid 70's and ended mid 80's. :icon_sad:

Damn, I completely forgot that one! I even have a rare RMX of it "After The Love Has Go-Go Gone", jumpin' on the bandwagon of the Go-Go Sound. In fact it's one of the only SAW-productions I ever bought.

I can't find a clip for that one unfortunately.

She was definitely NOT a one hit wonder. She had about half a dozen or more hits in Europe. She sold about 1,000,000 copies of Say I'm Your #1 alone. And way back when she was with SAW, they were good producers, just on the cusp of success before we all got tired of their sound.

I'll Keep On Loving You is another.

    I have 4 Princess 12"ers.

    Say I'm your No.1
    I'll Keep on Loving You
    After the Love Has Gone
and an allegedly promotional In the Heat of a Passionate Moment (Final Frontier mix)

Remember, Princess's vocals were recorded using the Calrec sound field microphone - todays sound - tomorrow's technology.

Speaking of Sonia...whatever happened to her. I know I have three of her cds:
    Everbody Knows
    Better The Devil You Know
    Sonia
I like the "Everybody Knows" the best because of the SAW production. Heck I'll admit to liking the SAW sound!! Kylie, Jason, Rick Astley, Mel & Kim, Big Fun etc..

I think, if we are to preserve the purity of the single word naming structure, we should have samples from QUEEN (I'm sure Freddie Mercury would approve) and then KING (I can only remember Love & Pride but...)

Now that is edging into bizarre territory.

The first album was a hit and there were some moderately successful singles after the first smash. I heard a Pete Waterman interbiew recently where he said her managemant were particularly painfull - so PWL dumped her in her prime - and really she never recovered!

    From The All Music Guide:

    Review of first album "Princess":

Next to the United States, England is the world's largest market for R&B. From Motown in the 1960s to urban contemporary in the 1980s and 1990s, plenty of R&B has been sold in cities like London, Manchester, and Birmingham. A lot of well known urban artists came out of England in the 1980s, including Soul II Soul, Sade, Junior, Billy Ocean, Five Star, and Loose Ends. Another British R&B artist who was active during that decade was former Osibisa singer Princess, who had a hit in 1986 with the sleek "Say I'm Your Number One." Produced by the prolific Mike Stock/Matt Aitken/Pete Waterman team — which is known for its work with Dead or Alive, Rick Astley, Samantha Fox, Bananarama, and others — Princess' first solo album is generally enjoyable even though it isn't as consistent as it could have been. Princess, an expressive singer along the lines of Evelyn "Champagne" King, Sharon Bryant, and Stephanie Mills, shows a lot of promise on the LP's best tracks, which range from "Say I'm Your Number One" (a Top 20 R&B hit in the U.S.) to the melancholy "After the Love Has Gone" and the funky "Just a Teaze." While some parts of the album are excellent, others are merely decent — at times, Princess coasts on her obvious talents instead of going that extra mile. But, overall, this release leaves listeners with a favorable impression of the singer, who, unfortunately, wasn't as successful in the U.S. as she was in England.

Review for the second album "All For Love" (no track listing):

The second album by former Osibisa member Princess did moderately well, but didn't equal the dance and club success she had enjoyed with her debut. The single "Red Hot" got a mild reaction, but she sounded less emphatic and inspired on most of the tracks.
