Great Cerrone-sampler ("Look For Love") and an incredible 70's look video based on "The Phantom Of The Opera" version of De Palma and the Belmondo-movie ("Peur Sur La Ville").

And the one featuring James Williams from "D-Train"

And this superb one, co-composed with André Wisniak and featuring Jean-Claude Vandamme:

You know, I loved "I feel for you" the minute I heard it.
I'd seen the clip before, but hadn't made the connection with Minos and his very fake-looking glass eye, because of the reflection on Sinclar's Ambermatic glasses. "Peur sur la ville" was, and still is, one of my favorite movies, also because of the original soundtrack. I loved it so much I bought 3 copies, just in case...

Back to Sinclar, he did another great track (not disco): "Ich rocke (in der disco)". Any clip to that?
Nope, there is a vid for "Ich Rocke", great tune BTW, but I can't find it....but there's a clip for "Peur sur la ville" :D

BTW, Bob Sinclar's real name is Chris too!
If you like Ennio Morricone's soundtrack to "Peur sur la Ville", check out his soundtrack to: "Without apparent motive" ("Sans motif apparent", with J.L. Trintignant ). It's also a great score, also based on whistling...
BTW, Bob Sinclar's real name is Chris too!
Yeah, I know. I met him once when he was unknown, hanging out at Yellow productions in Paris (A friend and I were preparing to produce a record). He was co-owner of the label. People called him Chris (short for Christophe).
Thanks Videoskooter,
I didn't think I would ever hear James "D-Train" Williams again but he is in fine form on "Darlin". Possibly the best thing he has done since the second D-Train album. It is a real shame he didn't have more success as IMO he has one of the best voices going around.
Cheers,
Tim Tam
Tim,
@ the time "Darlin'" came out, I remember reading an interview with James where he was so happy that he could do a real Discorecord again and that in Europe he was treated like an artist instead of being staged as a has been in the US.
KC,
He did some amazing work on the Yellow label: Lounge, Trip Hop, Jazzfunk and Disco. Besides his own material, Chris is mainly concentrating on the Africanism outputs nowadays and DJ-ing, coz' he still is behind the wheels of steel too.
Don't need to tell you that "Bob Sinclar" is also a Belmondo-character from the movie "Le Magnifique"
