Hi All,
here is another Disco video on Youtube. It cuts off before the song finishes but still worth a look. The whole Chic crew look very stylish.
Normally when you see the string players on a video they look bored and as if the whole thing is beneath them but the girls on this clip are smiling and dancing in their seats. Good to see that Classical musicians can "Get Down".
Is the male back up singer Fonzi Thornton? When I first saw the clip I wondered if it might be Steve Arrington.

I now like this song even more . 8-)
Tastefully done . Reflects the sometimes glamorous aspect of disco .
Nicely done shooting & editing.
At the beginning ... are they cutting away from another disco act on a different stage ??
And Fonzi appears to be having an especially "HI records" of a good time...... the keyboardist too ....

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
Does anyone know who the female background singer next to Fonzi is ?
Yes, they are cutting away from a second stage where Sister Sledge just finished their performance of Lost in Music. That clip was taken from the German live show Musikladen ( 45 minutes long ) which aired once a month between 1972 and 1984.
That particular show was first shown on the 18th of October 1979. Just before Sister Sledge Debbie Jacobs sang Undercover lover. And after that Bette Midler & The Harlettes performed My knight in black leather.... what a bunch of disco stars on one show !!!
Those Musikladen shows are a real treasure and regularly repeated on German TV. More artists who performed on Musikladen: Donna Summer, Grace Jones, The Jacksons, Al Hudson & The Partners, Ritchie Family, Odyssey, First Choice, Pointer Sisters, Roberta Kelly, Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, Linda Clifford, Claudja Barry, Moulin Rouge, Dan Hartman, Edwin Starr, Gap Band, Janet Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Judy Cheeks, Melba Moore, Nona Hendryx, Theo Vaness...... and of course regular visits by European disco acts Boney M., Eruption, Baccara, Sheila B.Devotion, Luv', La Bionda, Kelly Marie, Gibson Brothers and Amanda Lear
