This was HUGE at the club I went to (Charley's)...frantic,peak-time music, hit songs were "Everybody Loves a Dancer" and especially "Same Time, Same Place"-
was one of the better "Montreal/Canadian Disco" records at the time...
"Same Time, Same Place"has a really hard break to mix out of, unfortunately.
and the record cover's really cheap-looking; there was a 12" but, if I recall, it was the album version, with an instrumental b-side. Got played with the commercial Lime/Voggue stuff, along with the imported Italian/German productions from Unidisc/Matra (like Tantra, Peter Jacques, Passengers) and weirder stuff (Wonder's "Up and Down","Moscow Discow"/"Rock Around the Clock" by Telex)

    Oh, The memories.....
    we can fly...above the sky...

I thought so too .....always a mystery to me why any artist/label/ producer would work so hard on the material itself and then contain it in packaging that won't help sell it . Both front and back .... she's got that Lena Horne - I'm mad-at-the-world - glare going on ...

... but what a lucious pair of looong gams !!!

She has a great voice too . I love the way they did the Cheryl Lynn type of multi- layering of her voice on MAKE ME FEEL as well as the way for a bit she goes into singing
make me feel, mighty real ...
before going back into the intended lyrics of this song 8-)

I think this LP was her only effort ..... which is too bad .

I think the 12 minute medley of "Everybody loves a dancer" / "Same time same place" is absolutely excellent; if I had to rank my favourites of all time this would be in my top 10. :-P

Everybody Loves The Dancer / Same Time Same Place seagued into each other - heaven. Great sax solo towards the end of Everybody Loves The Dancer.

Thanks for bumping up this old thread. Don't know why I've overlooked that song. Typically can-con guitar (reminds me of "Love Disco Style") and percussion

Is the B-side as good as the medley?

For me it is all about "Everybody love's the dancer/Same time same place". The rest is so-so. But worth it for that segued track alone.

I'm spinning it as we speak Maarten, and tend to agree. If you look at the playing times, the segued track times at twelve and a half minutes. In other words, a long 12" cut, but hardly an album side. Maybe the record company felt the same? Shame she never did anything else.
