I'd never seen these videos before. Sometimes watching video footage of disco acts gives me shivers, but these clips can only make you laugh out loud. It looks loke a spoof, satire, or caricature, whichever!
My only guess is that the guys were only doing dorky half-moves in the live clip, to avoid losing their breath with fancy moves.
P.S. I wonder if the guys in red could possibly be gay (?...)
