Three songs are identical to the ones on Early Riser, and one ("Dawn Patrol") is a remix or re-recording.

Yeah, I think they redid the drum track on Dawn Patrol. Gave it a straight up groove, removing the syncopated drum pattern on the original mix. Or am I getting confused with the title track 'Early Riser'?

But I guess this is what makes us fans, nobody likes the same two records and when they do, we can't shut up and when we don't, we can shut up either !!

LOL for a sec there I was thinking you wrote Joe Tex! Yeah, I can imagine, especially with the guy in drag look I saw in one video clip of Laurie AKA Laurice performing.

I'm glad not everyone likes the same records. It makes it cheaper to buy when you're looking for a record you like but no one else does. :)

Hahaha, and Joe Tex (RIP) converted to Islam, so I doubt we would have ever seen him in a dress !

I was surprised at how good the Southern Exposure LP was because the music on the THP albums around that time (Tender Is The Night and Good To Me) seem to have songs of varying quality. Definitely not of the caliber of the Southern Exposure album, at least not to my music ears! :)

Too bad you don't like the Disco Spaceship! I'm surprised if it was pushed so hard, there aren't more copies floating around. I actually prefer the instrumental mix, although the vocal version is okay.

Yeah, I figured Dalida was some kind of legend. I see in her youtube clips all of the comments that seem to indicate she was huge.

    Cheers!

Dalida is much more than a legend in France - she is an icon. I find most people in the US don't know of her impact or how beloved she is to us. She is as important to French popular music as Edith Piaf. Perhaps as Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand are to American music (although musically, there is no comparison between these singers).

She is actually of Italian origin, her real name being Yolanda Gigliotti. Her father moved the family to Egypt, playing violin with the Cairo Opera. She was born and raised in Egypt and after making some movies, she moved to Paris in the 1950's and very quickly became a star. She had very big hits in every decade, even after her tragic death.

Carole Jiani sang on the original 12 inch. She is Canadian. Michelle Mills, who rerecorded the song and did the followup 12 inch and album (Tonight, With Your Love, etc, is from Detroit, Michigan.
