I have 2 copies of the LP, distributed by tk, but carry the A.P.A. record label. Dated 1978.
I also have the 12 inch tk disco labeled single and it is dated 1979.
How do you feel about For The Love Of My Man? I love this ballad.
I wasn't aware of this artist at the time so can someone confirm that this LP was released in '78 or '79 please? The US TK copy says '79 but my UK copy says '78. Surely it wasn'y released in the UK first? I didn't even realise it got a UK release until I found this copy in a charity shop in Dorset!:-o

Yes needle, I was surprised as I didn't have Celi down as a ballad singer; it's quite slinky isn't it?8-) I got the vinyl LP as the CD copy I had contained the 8 minute 12" version & not the full LP version.:-?

During the 70's I was living in Mexico and Celi Bee was very successfull there: «Superman», «Macho», «Fly me on the wings of love» and «Blow my mind» were big radio hits.
Four versions of «Fly me on the wings of love» were available:
1. The 7" APA-17007 with «You're the best thing (That ever happened to my life)» as the B-side;
2. The lp version [12:56] on the lp with the same name released at the end of 1978;
3. The US 12" TKD 126 [8:00] with «For the love of my man» as the B-side; this mix is the one available on the Hot productions cd's (the lp re-issue and an anthology);
4. The Canadian 12" 12K4 2007 [9:47] with «For the love of my man» as the B-side. It's a Jim Burgess mix, different than the others (I have it and I've checked the timing and the differences between this mix and the others).
A good anthology of her four APA albums (distributed by TK at the time) is «For the love of my man» released in 1994 by Hot productions. And it's one of the few Hot productions with the real mixes and not their usual bad edits (HTCD 34-2). It contains 14 songs from 1977 to 1979.
A rarity is the 12" remix of «Hold your horses babe» [6:30]. The song is taken from her previous album «Alternating currents». Originally the 6:30 version was only available on the UK 12" TKR 12-6032 under the name «Unedited disco version» although it's more a remix. It's available on the cd «TK disco 45 collection; volume 1 1976-8; Dance to the drummer's beat» (WestSide WESD 207, released in 1999) BUT it's not listed on the sleeve! I have it and it's track #11 on cd 2: the cd has in fact 25 tracks and not 24. «Superman» and «One love» by Celi Bee are available here with songs from Wild Honey (the first TK 12"), T-Connection, Foxy, Peter Brown, Joe Thomas and more: this collection with its many hard to find songs is a real treat for anyone interested in the TK label.
Voilà.
