We are spending too much time together :D Heatwave is in my playlist. It's the album featuring Boogie Nights, Always & Forever, and Aint No Half Steppin'.
Maybe not totally forgoten but let's say that I don't read that much about 'em on the board. The British/American band made some very good stuff though. More Funky than Disco perhaps but....catchy!

Find them and destroy them!
Heatwave were OK but I tend to think of them as a training ground for Rod Temperton's writing talent. He reached his peak on the stuff he did with Quincy Jones IMO.
...ya gotta beat the street......
Sandy: It's a strange thing, but I would have agreed with you until I heard a Rod Temperton documentary on Radio 2 about 6 months ago. In fact I would have agreed with you for a good few weeks after the programme, but something kept on niggling away in my brain and now, I regard his songwriting during Heatwave as probably being better. Less catchy maybe, less honed, but importantly, less formulaic.
Don't get me wrong, in my book the guy deserves all the plaudits he (now?) receives and probably deserves a hell of a lot more.
It's the first time I ever heard this Silver C-Cover:-o
They certainly make a hell of a Funkpiece of it. Talented guys!
Another GREAT 1:

"Fly, Robin, Fly" has been pulled for rights violation.
Ah, what memories.
You know how there are some songs that take you back to ONE particular place in one particular time? Almost as if you were still there?
1977 is the year and "Groove line" takes me back to the USC student lounge where I hung out playing pinball. I remember hearing that song in the background as if it were yesterday.
Thanks for all the memories. I don't post much but I read and think about the " good old days " when all I worried about was where to go dancing on the weekends.
I used to frequent the LA disco scene in the late 70\'s. My favorite discos were \" My uncles, Dillons, the Tiki\'s, Odyssey 2000.
