the girl in the middle was on the cover of a Black Box release--maybe "I Don't Know Anybody Else"??? I know I have it...
Hello,
On Joel Whitburn's «Billboard's Hot Dance/Disco 1974-2003» cover there is a 12" sleeve I can't identify : it's the one in the center, picturing a young brunette, between among some others (clockwise) Adeva, Donna Summer, Nina Hagen and Linda Clifford. Anyone can help me ? Thank you.

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
If it's the black girl in the center with the black headband then that is off the Black Box CD single "I Don't Know Anyone Else." Just checked the credits and it doesn't say who.

maybe this is her name:
from AMG:
they teamed with singer and model Katrin (born Catherine Quinol) as Black Box
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
It is Katrin Quinol, the lead singer* of Black Box, as can be seen on this discography page on her website here:
http://www.katrinquinol.com/discography.html
In the UK, a different photo was used for the single of "I don't know anybody else", but you can see the photo in question at the bottom of the page, as the cover of the Japan issue of "Ride on time".
(* of course, the original version of Ride on Time was actually "sung" by Loleatta Holloway, as sampled portions of "Love Sensation" as I'm sure you all know. A re-recording with Katrin doing the vocals followed soon after) ;)
EDIT: Damn! Marky beat me by one minute!

Gosh you learn something new everyday on this site.
I never knew Katrin sang on any Black Box recording. I thought she was just window dressing.
I did see Black Box perform in Boston when they did Everybody Everybody. Her singing, well not I'd call memorable but she had a killa body :-P
Find them and destroy them!

Luckily all you guys speak Italian. I feel at home here :-P
BTW, I'm gonna beat Remicks here: what about the rumour that this is a guy :-o And isn't the Blackbox hit responsable for finally getting Jocelyn Brown the recognition she deserves after she came out and shouted to everybody that she was the one singing the tune and not our dear Katrin?? And that this opened new doors for her to real and well deserved stardom?
Damn, it was Loleatta Holloway who sang "Ride on time".
But I remember her crying on the television and saying that they nicked her vocals and that the "Bimbo (= Katrin)" was only posing and she demonstrated it by playing the original record and singalong with it.
Sorry Jocelyn
I also remember when they played in Boston. I recall the djs on KISS-108 talking about how suprised they were that she was...a he. I always went on the assumption that it was a guy in drag or transgendered person.
I Don't Know Anybody Else is an awesome song, one of my favorites. I loved that cd single that the picture is taken from - all the different mixes. I would always back Hurley's House mix up to the accapella version. I loved the short gospel styled break near the end of the accapella (or at the beginning of the album version.) It's so close to what Martha Wash did with Izora Rhodes and Sylvester that it makes me feel all nostalgic! Maybe that's why I love it so much.
