'Touch Me Take Me' by Black Light Orchestra is very in that style.:???:
It's been years since I've been trying to find this 70's instrumental song. The period should have been between 1975 to 1977. Was not a huge hit, but did made it to the air waves. Was played mainly in piano and sounded a lot like "Love Unlimited Orchestra" and "Deodato", but isn't. From Disco Music, people helped me to no avail, all these are discarted: "Wow", "Surprise", "Spring Rain", "Missirlou", "Beyond The Clouds" by Quartz and "Chloe" by Cy Coleman.
Where can I find the instrumental songs that made it to the charts from 1975 to 1977?

...ya gotta beat the street......
This may not be what you're into, but if you like Instrumental Disco Music, you might like "Baby, Baby, Baby". It was performed by the British soul group Gonzalez who as you probably know had a smash hit with "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet" B.B.B. was never a hit, but it is very catchy and very up beat but very rare. Certainly worth having in an Instrumental Disco collection.
I see you mentioned Love Unlimited orchestra. Could this be a song of theirs you may not be aware of ? I remember the instrumental to Love Theme , and another song of theirs I found much later not knowing the name for many years called Sweet Summer Suite. If you already are familiar with these. I know another song I just found out about a month ago from that same era different group called MFSB who featured another group called The Three Degrees, and the song was TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia). It's an instrumental also. I hope this helps.
i reckon it's the Velvelettes - 'Needle In A Haystack'
It won't be the Velvelettes for two reasons it came out 66/67 and its not an Instrumental its a Motown vocal group.
it was a joke sir. Looking for a piano-led 70s instrumental with no other clues, is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It would be easier to list every instrumental that has ever been made that DIDN'T have a piano in it. It was just a joke though, no offence meant.
I'll have a serious stab at a 70s instrumental which was a hit... mmm... I'll go for the Commodores "Machine Gun".

this is a cool group and I was just able to identify a song that i've been playing but unable to identify - saw this post and read "spring rain" and a light bulb went on :icon_biggrin: so perhaps i can try to return the favor ....
just a wild guess but could the song be disco-connection by isaac hayes?
Rinder and Lewis of AVI could very well have something to do with this search.....But on the same note, I just found out a track I looked for for 15 years! Instumentals are hard..."You know it goes, bum bum-da da da-piano-string, you know the one, right?"..ha ha
