Yes....terrible price...
Try in Ebay.... !!!
Yvonne, like Bernie said, why go for the very expensive CD when you can find the vinyl very easy and at a cheap price. I did (2 x € 10,00) and I'm enjoying miss Kelly.
I once owned an OFFICIAL release by Castle Communications (they also released Munich Machine and Giorgio's KNIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN), but sold it on Ebay for good money. It was just called Trouble Maker but contained both albums. Though not keeping the original artwork, the sound quality was very good.
I have the 1996 release of both albums on one CD, done from the original masters. the sound isn't remastered the way the 1990 religious label of her Gettin the Spirit was (which I also have two sealed copies of on CD and sounds gorgeous) but is VERY good. Liek the other Budd/Castle releases on CD of Moroder albums (knights in White Satin and the first two Munich Machines) it was in print VERY briefly--I never did get copies of those on CD but did manage to get this around 1999 from a store for 6 bucks as a complete fluke
Troublemaker - CBU 62508 Made In Germany BUD Music, Distributed by Kiosk
Spirit - 1989 Lection Records, distributed by PolyGram
I have the cd of Bud Music. There is an annoying position at 2.59, what makes me believe that this is a bootleg.
Can somebody confirm that?
Does the vinyl play fine at 2.59?
WHat's the problem? I've never noticed anything--I own the vinyl and the CD youmention (it's not a bootleg though--those German releases were cofnirmed on the Moroder mailing list)
I attached the part of which I'm talking.
Hi Guys:
After so many posts about bootleg, non-bootleg, I have doubts. Are these CD's bootlegs or not?
Here are the scan I have done right now. Do you have any comment about them?
Roberta Kelly: Trouble Maker + Zodiacs
Roberta Kelly: Gettin’ The Spirit
Munich Machine: Get On The Funk Train + A Whiter Shade Of Pale
Do I have an original or bootleg CD?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Hessel

Don't think the 'Trouble Maker/Zodiacs' cd was a bootleg as it was widely available in huge music stores here in Holland about 15 years ago.
Cheers.
I'n sure it was an official release, as you can find all necessary information like label code, catalogue number or EAN code. Most bootlegs don't have that details.
Hessel I only have the Roberta Kelly 2 cds you poste dbut mine are exactly the same (my Spirit even has the "cut out" in the corner which shows it was sent to the remainder bin) and they are NOT bootlegs. I'm pretty certain te Munich Machine one isn't either--and I want it!
They all look legit to me.
I guess this funky little dance number hasn't been put on CD yet
Disco Funk
Pierre, those are the exact ones I have. I have the Roberta Kelly Troublemaker/Zodiacs one and the Gettin;' the Spirit one--by the time I was able to by both (prob around 1999) the Munich Machine one was already so hard to find people wanted over $150.00 so I never got that one.
The Budde releases (Troublemaker/Zodiacs and Munich Machine) aren't remastered. They do sound like they're from the original tapes though (and again they are NOT bootlegs) but the sound isn't amazing. Oddly though the Gettin' the Spirit--which is on a religious label--WAS remastered, and sounds very good indeed.
The term "remastered" has been so misused and abused that it no longer means anything.
If they were put on CD, they must have been remastered, just not to your liking. What is it about the sound that you don't like? Were they sourced from high-generation tapes or even cassettes?

Well usually I refer to reamstered if the linear notes say remastered. It's true often modern remasters negatively affect the sound. Still...
Hrmm think of the early Donna SUmmer CD reissues compared to the remastered The Wanderer (only a remastered edition was released) or even the so/so remastered Deluxe Bad Girls. That's the difference in sound. They are from tapes I'm pretty sure but they sound flat on CD, the way many 80s "ports" from tape to CD for reissues did (and I don't mean because the sound volume is low--I know all about that issue). Or think about the difference between the recent Disco Discharge CD remasters compared to how some of the same songs sounded on budget price comps.
There is a difference, and yeah I'm overstating things, but usually when you see a "remastering" credit in the booklet this is what they're refering to. (now as to the quality of the remaster, that's another thing altogether...)
Yes, when being put on CD they have to master it but there is definitely a diff between going over the source material and optimizing it for CD and just putting it on straight--
Other examples I have would be Madonna's first album first CD release and the remaster release--or if you're into musicals like I sam the original 1980s release to CD of the cast album for Sondheim's 1970 Company and the MUCH improved 1990s remastered release. Yes some of these are guilty merely of bumping up the vol (causing compression problems) but a lot more was done to carefully take advantage of CD
