Which Star Was Your very First Hottie?

I know I was very young and madly, totally in love with Jerney Kaagman, leadsinger from Dutch band Earth & Fire. When she was on da tele, I saw little fluffy clouds

And I still like her and these wonderful early 70's songs that are branded in my musical memory. I don't know if other members have ever heard of this band?

But can U remember for which STAR you got the hots in your teenage years?????

BTW, please watch these, the band had a unique sound and damn, I got really emotional watching them for the first time in many many years:

Got one "Earth and Fire" album but never heard the earlier stuff like "Love Of Life" though - that track has a great mutant bongo funk rock feel to it, very spinnable these days or what.

I used to fancy the pants off LYNSEY DE PAUL, she seemed to be such a naughty older woman. I taped her hit single "Sugar Me" - another early disco record waiting to happen with the syncopate beat and the slippery violins - to a friend so he could listen it in the privacy of his bedroom, door locked and curtains drawn. Lynsey had a little birthmark or a mole just next to her mouth where she needed the sugar put into. Oh the thoughts that filled my head when she looked at me and slowly said "..ZZZsugar me, boy..." I still have the record, for private use only of course.

I know the song "Love Light" by Jerney which I believe is the same Jerney Kaagman.

Here's what I found on another site.

    Love light (Jerney)

    Robbie Leslie
Robbie Leslie - Love LightA 12” was released in the States in the 80s of Jerney's 'Love light' on a small, unknown label. Robbie Leslie remixed the multitrack radio version of this song in a New York studio somewhere in the middle of the 80s. Leslie’s remix of 'Love light' was released in 1986 on single at M records, label number 186MR.

NRG, I doubt the connection between Jerney and Jerney Kaagman. I can't find "Lovelight" in the band's database, maybe somebody can fill me in???

If we are talking about singers only, I have to say I didn't have a teenage crush. Of course I liked Donna, but we saw so little of these beauties in the pre-MTV days that we didn't have enough stuff to feel hot about.

And outside disco... Karen Carpenter? Joni Mitchell? Janis? I loved them for their voices only.

Now, if you talk actresses... Don't get me started. ;)

Nano, this is not limited to singers. The only conditions are: it has to be a star (= pretty unreachable) in your country or worldwide or whatever and it has to be somebody from your early youth.

So feel free to express your deepest feelings for somebody

Ahem... Your wish is my command!

I'll pick Graciela Alfano, a local model and actress which in her young years was so beautiful, she was just perfect:

I remember seeing many Raquel Welch movies in television, but miss Graciela was the first to make my hormones rumble :-o I remember following her in the street in my hometown, I was like 14 years old. With a friend we walked behind her and some lucky bastard for two or three blocks. Let's just say her ass -covered in turquoise satin pants- was a powerful magnet. But she was beautiful everywhere.

Sadly, in recent years she went the surgery route and also became much more naughty. I liked her in those years when she pretended to be "above" cattiness. So here's my humble tribute.

I'm sure underneath those frilly dresses she's wearing leather strings and the whip marks will be in YOUR behind, not hers!:-)
But what is that "Love Bomb" record - is it dance music? Must seek that out!

Jussi, "Love Bomb" was covered by Cheryl Lynn so it's definitely dance ;) In fact you can call it early Discofunk :-)

    hey 'skooter,

i've been relistening to robbie leslie's closing party set at the saint and that "Love Light" song came on. i did a google search and discovered a listing for the "Love Light" lyrics and they exactly match the Jerney record that nrgbeat mentioned, so it's got to be the same Jerney Kaagman. the 12" is on a very tiny US label — i always wondered about Jerney, which is a strange spelling in the English language. figures it would be some pop singer who is a total unknown in the US! it cracks me up that an '80s obscurity on the US gay circuit would be sung by one of your first crushes!

    thought you'd wanna know!

Thx for the info Barry. Still can't find that track and I'm very curious now. BTW her real name is Kaagman but not Jerney; it's Christina.

    Jerney then:

This vid brings back so many memories-transports me right to the early 70's being a young kid! Great moments!

    Jerney now:
