Besides Meco, who did disco version of Close encounter of 3rd kind ?
The record starts with 5 keyboard notes alone then earthquake noise goes in, then disco beat starts.
Could be it Meco, but different version ?
Anyone can help ?
If you buy this record your life, will be better.

Well, as far as I know Gene Page died in 1998 or 1999. Sadly! :sad:On 2002-08-20 14:30, DanceMan wrote:

You are probably right about the year of his death...On 2002-08-20 14:40, Blaxman wrote:

The Gene Page Orchestra (Gene arranged for much of Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra) had a mostly instrumental dance track on an Atlantic Records single back in '76 - entitled, "Wild Cherry" (is anyone else aware of that?) It is also the same year the group Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" debuted...they probably helped steal some of Gene's thunder....I leaned more toward Gene's record....(Big hit at the Experiment 4 disco)
I think you're looking for Vince Montana's version. The 12" reads: Montana, "A Dance Fantasy", Inspired by Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.
This is a 15:47 Tom Moulton Mix on Atlantic from 1978. It starts out just as you describe and ends with Sister Sledge lending vocals to "When You Wish Upon a Star".
