    RubberBand/Trammps

I know this may be old news to alot of you,but I
am just now hearing this magnificent song.I read
about it but I couldn't find it on all the gazillion
Trammps lps and cds I have. But I downloaded
one of those rare groove/soul mixes last week
with no track listing and I instantly recognized
that voice of course.Love it,can't stop playing it
and wish I had a better copy but am thrilled at
discovering something by a group I thought I
had heard everything by.I love it when these
young smarty pants DJ's find these little treasures
that I had no idea existed.God bless em!

I just saw on Amazon that this track was on "The Legendary
Zing Album" that I used to own but lost somewhere in
    the last thirty years.IDIOT!

Stretchin' me out...Like a rubberband....Got my life in the palm of your hand!
I thought this was a cool tune too thommy. My discovery of it was sort of like yours. I didn't get the chance to hear it until after I heard the rhythm sampled by a couple of today's artists...Namely "The Game" & "Mary J. Blige". They both credited "The Trammps" as the original composers of the sampled tune on both their cd's. While you are correct in stating that Rubber Band is originaly from the Legendary Zing Album, Check out these two...

Rubber Band is on both of these cd's although the actual reissue of "Legendary Zing" appears to be discontinued. Also, In case you are wondering about the Collectables Golden Classics cd, It looks as if it is a greatest hits cd but it actually is the same as Legenday Zing with the same tracks in the same order with almost the same pic on the cover. The Golden Classics edition is readily available if you may still want a better copy.

Rubberband had some Northern Soul play at that time ,but it was the instrumental side that had all the play it was actually called "Scrub Board".

Stay away from the Collectables version. The quality is sub-par. The better version I've heard is the Unidisc release, but that was deleted years ago.
