I am not usually a fan of music videos, but "Love's Theme" by Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra was awesome! To see and hear a "live" version of this was wonderful. Real violins, real cellos, real French horns, Barry White-the man... real everything!!! The mixture of old world and the new Black and urban sound was just another evolution in the sound of music especially Disco. Thanks for posting this one.

Shenkin .....you are so smart ..... what a collection !! Thanks for sharing !!

Bernie ....doesn't that video speak for and about so much ...yah, those french horns8-)8-)8-) ....... that quick glimpse of the harp .....the guy at the congas in suit and tie ........AND MOSTLY ....big bad Barry White proudly waving that baton center stage of it all .... completely wrapped around by symphonic and funk musicians pumping away
    ....I'm rarely so moved......

Now about another video here ....
my personal favourite KC song is KEEP IT COMING LOVE ... hate the camera angle on KC in this video .... but love the energy going on .... the moves of the back up ladies (which I think its admirable KC has them right up front ..those particular female vocals are the capper for that song ... ) and then those boppin' horn players 8-)...
and especially THAT TAMBOURINE PLAYER 8)8)8)

Who the heck is that whacking the tambourines with that knock 'em dead smile (and open shirt ) !!:icon_question::icon_question:

sigh ....it was asked elsewhere ...... do we need a time machine ? ......:cry::cry::cry:

No problem, Bernie! This live version features the exact same guys who were on the records as far as I can tell. I've actually known about this clip for a few years because it played on a retro video show that airs up here in Canada. The dancers you see at the beginning of the clip were part of a Soul Train/AB type show that was filmed in Toronto Ontario called Boogie back in the mid 70s. The retro video show also played Never Gonna Give Ya Up by Barry White that was recorded on the same Midnight Special program, but you don't get to see the band as much, just Barry sweating as he sings and walks through the audience. I think the clip is on Youtube, but I didn't link it here.

Speaking of Midnight Special , I saw a piece the other night of an infomercial on MSNBC selling this show on DVD (maybe old news?), they claimed to be remastered, any one owns this??

they showed clips of Marvin Gaye, B.White, Diana Ross ,Spinners, among many other groups/acts including many more top forty acts of the day.

edit: here is a link I just foundwith info.

I'm amazed (but not amazed) that Barry White (and all other Disco U.S. producers) ever managed to end up with tunes that were funky or that swung with sooo many white, ageing classical musicians. Interestingly, this is where I believe there was a huge difference between the symphonic Disco produced stateside and that produced in Europe. Americans, largely because of Jazz and Broadway shows had always had (classical) musicians who could swing and inject a certain pizazz into their playing, whereas European players have never had the same feel. Americans have always had a zip to their playing. Even today, an American Jazz musician will swing in an entirely different way to his European counterparts, even though there is more of a Jazz scene in Europe currently with more active Jazz musicians per capita.

Looking at this video clip, is their anyone who now doubts that Disco was a last ditch attempt by the music establishment to move music back to the old way of doing things? Contrast with the KC & Sunshine Band tracks. Fewer musicians, more electronic instruments (as a percentage), YOUNGER BAND and YOUNGER SOUND altogther.

    I found
    Runaway Love by Linda Clifford.
Personally, I think its a strange video, shes just sitting on a fountain.
Im glad to finally be able to see this, though.
I wonder how she got her hair to puff that much. I want my wife to get her hair more puffed.

    http://www.discomusic.com/forums/new...uote=1&p=96661

    fun facts:
this song was later remixed into a house / hip hop song in the 90s by a group called "the bucketheads"

A great find-never seen it before! Probably my all time favourite track. The video is a bit 'iffy', however .....

BTW the 90's house version was rubbish.

Those Ojays' clips are great, so nice to see this live performances from when they were at their peak.

On Love and Kisses is weird to see that guy doing Alex's vocals :o as youcan see by the comments people have no idea.:???:

finally listened to Thelma's as previously it played without audio :evil:Some one should post about the Original by Harold Melvin with Teddy, again posters there have no idea. :???:

First time I ever seen Kendricks performing "Girl ..." way to cool 8-)Tanks Video for your efforts and time:p
