Gay? Wasn't he married? Yeah I know but that would mean he's bisexual maybe. Goddess, any thing to add here?

CAPTAIN KIRK IS NOT GAY!!!!!!
He screwed a green alien woman in Star Trek episode 28 of the first season...Um...I think. :???:

Don't tell me this guy had the opportunity of doing something with that hot black lieutenant and didn't take it, man...
Life is unfair :-(
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
I think it was in the episode Boodi mentioned "Gamesters of Triskelion" that Kirk had a chance with her, Uhura. It was quite controversial to have Kirk do an obvious fake kiss. The rednecks only liked interracial sex in private when they could rape black women. Incidentally, note the imagery in that episode. Kirk uses a whip
OK...I'm off the soapbox.

That (forced) snog between Shatner and Nichols was in the "Plato's Stepchildren" episode.
TV was bizarre back in the day. I remember the episode of "It Takes A Thief" featuring the 5th Dimension. Robert Wagner was on a couch with Marilyn McCoo (this is when she was a complete hottie). They were supposed to kiss, but it was "interrupted" by some event.
The Petula Clark-Harry Belafonte incident...Tina Andrews impending interracial marriage on "Days Of Our Lives" magically ruined in a couple of episodes...the African-American doctor and White nurse who were casually dating on "All My Children", but never so much as held hands...yuck!

Boodi, I worship at your feet. I would drink a tub of your bathwater
Babe, that "It Takes A Thief" episode is one that's been on my mind recently. I have been looking for that show on DVD, in particular that episode. Damn babe, we are "there" 8-) Didn't they feature One Less Bell To Answer in that episode.

I recently saw an old film with Harry Belafonte in it & I never before noticed how incredibly handsome that guy was! What was the incident with Petula Clark?
...ya gotta beat the street......
Paul, the McCoo episode is available as part of what appears to be a DVD bootleg box set of "ITAT" on Ebay.
SD, The Belafonte-Clark incident occurred in '68. They touched hands briefly during a TV special, and and a nervous Chrysler wanted to pull sponsorship. Clark stood her ground and the show aired, but of course certain elements here had a prob with it .
Oh, one more strange recollection. An episode of "Eight Is Enough" appeared to be ready to break some ground in 77/78, implying that Lani O'Grady would date Dorian Harewood and deal with the "liberal" Dick Van Patten's reaction to the situation. Of course, in the last 10 minutes, it was all explained away as a misunderstanding.
Network execs...you can't kill 'em, and you can't kill 'em.

Boodi...Boodi...Boodikka, guess what I got in the mail today. Yup, I received the bootleg copy of that It Takes A Thief episode. And umm, it's definitely bootleg :D
Man it was good seeing that show again. First off I just love the theme music for ITAT. Christ, there was more skill, talent, and effort making the theme music for this TV show than most of the music I've heard in the last 20 years. I noticed that Dave Gruisin did the music for ITAT. Jesus, in retrospect we took a lot of what we had back then for granted
Back to the show, I wasn't disappointed. I also noticed the point you made about that interruption, a phone call by the way. It seemed so strange cause you know there was some chemistry there. The script writers though had Wagner playing the role of a eunuch. Real believable!
I just wish the studios would release this show as well as Gomer Pyle, and a few others on DVD.

Paul, I'm glad that worked out...I suspected it would be a bootie. It's bizarre that ITAT isn't available for legal purchase anywhere, but I suppose you could say that about a lot of TV series: I would seriously kill someone for a legal boxed set of "My Living Doll" with Julie Newmar.
I hope the quality was decent. It would be great if Mark Cuban could re-master these shows as he did for "Hogan's Heroes" on his HD network. I'd want to see "Occasional Wife", "Hawaiian Eye", "Adventures In Paradise", "Dr. Kildare" (especially the "Tyger, Tyger episodes with Yvette Mimeux...made me cry the first time I watched them :( ), "The Girl From Uncle" (young Steffie P. in da hizzzy!) and a host of others.

Damn Boodi, you certainly remember your classic TV shows
As for my purchase, the only thing that was really good about it was seeing the episode, Sing A Song of Murder. There was supposed to be another episode on the dvd but it was unplayable. The quality of the recording was very poor. It was similar to what you'd find on the cheapest 20 year old VCR recorded on cheap tape at the slowest speed :o Oh well.
I'm having a hard time remembering My Living Doll. I'll look into that.
