I love 'Assassino' from '84.
...ya gotta beat the street......
I'm a great fan of her Discoyears, after that period I must confess that I didn't "Follow Her", but maybe she has released other good stuff, I don't know.
Great:
- "Sweet Revenge" (Album>A-Side)
- "Queen Of Chinatown"
- "Fashion Pack"
There's an excellent CD-Compilation of the woman with the Marlène Dietrich-voice:

There's a brand new Queen Lear record, "Paris By Night", trés glamorous.
Amanda on Italian television in 1978, an episode of Stryx: wearing a burning red sequined dress slashed to reveal her legs, the diva falls on a round blue plastic bed, with live kittens crawling on it. She rolls around lasciviously, caressing the animals against her cheek....then she does "Follow Me" in a skin tight black leather outfit, surrounded by her minions, while a strangely painted Japanese man in a body stocking growels at her feet. Images of surreal beauty, Amanda really was an otherwordly creation. She's still looking quite fetching today I think.
70sdiscoparty, do you know where I can find a copy of the Queen Of Chinatown video from Italian TV (The one you mentioned where she's wearing the gold dress!).
I've serached everywhere including youtube but it is the only version I cannot find.
I would really like to see it so if you can help let me know, thank you...:icon_mrgreen:
I could never really get into her music originally as I hated her deep voice - she always came across as a bad drag queen. However now in hindsight I don't mind a few of her classic disco songs. Plus whenever I hear her, she makes me think of this guy I knew when I first came out who just idolized her and he use to play her records over and over and over.![]()
