Being an outsider to tango culture, I used to give some credit to the "gay Gardel" theory. Until this year, when I read Simon Collier's biography on the 2x4 star, usually the best qualified being that Collier (a British man who lived in Buenos Aires) not only covered Carlos' adventures in our country but also his European and U.S. years. Collier analyzes the rumours and then discards them one by one. Gardel's own reservations about his love life left much space for the imagination.

So, to me Carlitos = not gay. 8)
