Disco sample used in rap song

Hello everybody
I am new to this forum, but you all seem to be very competent in this genre.
I am looking for the original disco song that snoop dogg samples in Who Am I,
I have heard it once.
I starts off with a voice saying something like: this is a story of rhythmic dog, a harmonic dog, a street dog a funky dog etc….
Then it continues with the chorus going bow wow wow yippi yo yippi yay…
I think he sings something like: Why must I be like that, why must I chase the cat. Several times as well..
I am looking for the artist as well as the title of the song.

give me a link to where I can hear the song on line (a sample from amazon would do) and then Ill listen to it and tell you, if I can. I dont have time to look for the snoop song for you, though

Just played this the other day. It is "Atomic Dog" by George Clinton.

actually there was two george clinton parliment samples in who am i(what's my name). the bassline came from knee deep and the chorus was atomic dog. george clinton colaborated with snoop on the album and made an appearance in the video.
