Sleepin' peaked at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1974. I've never heard it before; I'm afraid I might not want to.

I wanted to include the albums each song came off of but considering Miss Ross' albums have been, for the most part (with the exception of The Boss (1979) and Diana (1980)), inconsistent (another thing; why couldn't the people at Motown come up with innovative titles for Diane's albums? Two albums titled Diana Ross within six years? Diana in 1980? We almost saw a redux of that trend when Mrs. Bobby Brown released Whitney Houston (1985) and then Whitney (1987). I put the blame on the Beatles, who made unoriginal album titles an art form with innovative album titles like Meet The Beatles, With The Beatles, Beatles For Sale, Beatles '65, et al.

Blame Miss Michael (Jackson) for that one; he penned it. I still don't understand half of what Miss Ross is singing during the bridge:

".....oil on your body. Come with me, I am the cascades..." WTF?

Oh I know Salsoul! That's probably 90% of the reason I hate that song! Miss Michael, indeed!

    Back to the game...

Although I'm not a fan of the original - I just don't see the need for a remake. Smacks of pure despiration.

Oh god, i never saw Workin' Overtime; i don't blame u for removing that new jack s--t marky! & yes I do like Work That Body, it's a really good piece of early 80s boogie-dance IMO; probably the last really good thing she did.

    Re: Miss Ross Survivor

I never really pay much attention to the lyrics; does this make me a shallow queen?:???: I think it has a good groove & I love moving round to it when I'm doing the ironing.:D It reminds me a bit of Paul Jabara's 'Disco Queen' from TGIF. Marky, sarcasm doesn't become you BTW. If u must bring up Steven Sondheim, how many times does that silly cow in 'Company' repeat 'Bobby baby' over & over? I rest my case.

    Sandy,
I don't know how to do that--or those Spanish punctuation thingies that I've seen others use. I just use an old apostrophe. :icon_exclaim:

On the Mac all I do is hold the option key then type the "e" twice and it comes out with the accent. Like so... é. Not sure about Windows, but it should be similar.

This one just never seemed to quite come together. Tuneful teen pop, easy listening 80s keyboards, sluggish tempo, and a disinterested vocal. This was the follow-up to the Chic album?! A big disappointment.

#36--Her tribute to Marvin Gaye "Missing You" I won't miss.

There's quite a few songs on this list that I've never heard before. I need to Diana-educate myself.
